WARNING: There is a company in Raleigh, NC that is scamming employees that go into business with them.  The company is "Blue Devil Marketing". The company is currently being investigated by a couple of local bureaus due to the number of fraud complaints against them in addition to fraudulent guidelines of "independent contracting".

The company states that they are a marketing company working for AT&T. They are only contractors for AT&T (very new contractors) and one problem that is plaguing those associated with the company is that it is a 100% commission job. Regardless of what their ads say, there is NO BASE PAY. They also state that employees under them are independent contractors but the definition of independent contracting according to IRS guidelines are not in total agreement because although the company itself is a contractor for marketing other companies' products the people working for Blue Devil Marketing are not necessarily "independent" contractors themselves. All of this is still under investigation.

To place it bluntly the "Blue Devil Marketing" position is a door to door job where employees sign customers up for Uverse cable services. Biggest complaint is that come payday there is no way an employee can verify cancellations thus making it extremely easy for thievery on part of the management to flourish.

So why are they still in business you're probably wondering? It's simple. Before they hire a person they  have them sign documentation saying that they are an "independent contractor" who will not retaliate against the company in any way for any reason. Many scamming companies do this without realizing there are tight ways around it.  I would advise anyone who is interested to do a google search of the company and their parent company, "Smart Circle". There are are many websites dedicated to exposing them as well.

Overall, please be aware of "marketing" companies. Many are fraudulent. Happy searching.
