Bluebird is a ripoff! After purchasing bluebird debt. card two different times, I still am unable to spend or get to my money without a big, long, streched out ordeal. The first card i bought at walmart. Ipaid 5.00 for card then put 15.00 on it,then went home to register for new one. I gave my email and didnt confirm in time causing one big confusion!

When I corrected the problem with my email I had done spoken with 6 to 7 different  bluebird people on a daily basis for 5 weeks everyone of them unable to register me because they didnt believe I was who I was claiming to be,so they told me in order to fix the problem i had to create a new email which i done in which they still didnt believe I was me.So I had to get a refund of only 10.00 losing 10.00 of the 20.00 Iput in.

They then informed me to wait  30 days to purchase another one giving my new email in which I did only to be told after purchasing another card putting 25.00 into it.Getting on line to register the new card I was told denied due to the fact that my name was already on their records and couldnt log in,so Iused my husbands name with my email and it worked!

Bluebird sent my husband Titus Mora a debt card in his name with the 20.00 I put on it .Iwas able to buy a movie from the red box at my grocery store but when I was told to enter a pin code for gas at the phillips 66 store i tryed my pin number from another account not knowing if Iprogrammed a pin number or not!I couldnt get my money and left.

Ireturned home got on line and proceeded to log in a pin number for the bluebird card that was completed and im still unable to get any of the money back .my account says Ihave no funds and that phillips 66 has my money on hold. I then returned to the gas station explaining the problem only to be told it takes a day to get my money back. Its now day 3 and im still unable to get my money back on the card .

Its another problem one after another with this bluebird card  Ihave run out of patience with them so im contacting you that this could possably be a scam because I feel ripped off.

Scam?

You think this is possibly a scam?

Let's see here...you get a card and fail to complete the registration in time by confirming your account.  That is NOT their fault.  As a result they can't verify who you are, and contrary to your statement.  I seriously doubt you talked to 6 or 7 people EVERY DAY for 5 weeks...especially over $15.

So what do you do then..you get your money back and then a month later buy a new one.  But you don't use your name..you use your Husbands name.  Where in a lot of cases YOU have just comitted Identity Theft, now of course he probably won't prosecute you but not exactly the most honest thing to do either.

As for the Hold, that is put on by the Gas Station when you pay at the pump.  Generally the hold can be anywhere from about $75 to $100.  If you don't have that much your card will be declined, and you will have to wait anywhere from about 3 days to a couple of weeks for the bank to release the hold.  You can try to get it released sooner but that generally takes a lot of paperwork and effort to get a hold of the Gas Station saying you didn't purchase gas and them talking to the bank.

OH and just as a side note..in the future how to avoid this is instead of doing the card at the pump, you need to go in and specify exactly how much you want to get.
