My son works for a company that requires direct deposit and with no checking account, he purchased a BlueBird card at Walmart. It has been a disaster since day 1. First WM took his money, but he wasn't able to access any even several hours later. Then the mgr set up all his info, but didn't bother to info my son the details.

After getting that all straightened out, his employer starting direct depositing. Each week, he's had to get a new password. He would create a new password, but the Bluebird website would not recognize the password, even after stating that he had done everything correctly and new password was saved.

Now after 6 weeks of pay, only 3 were deposited and available before 2 pm on the day that his check was to be available. This week's payroll isn't deposited yet. He is paid on Friday and now it's Saturday evening, with nothing in his account. He works PT for minimum wage, so of course, there is NO leftover from previous week's payroll.

Yesterday, on Friday, he called at least 6 times, each time was put on hold for 30 minutes than hung up on. Finally today he was able to speak to someone that was able to tell him what he will need to 'find' his money. How long it will take to actually get his money is anyone's guess.

As soon as he can get some other way to have direct deposit, he will. It will still take 2 weeks to change from this disaster, so he's stuck until then.

Definitely will NOT recommend.
