After running accross rip-off notices about them on the internet,we became wary of our 'free-trip' to Vegas but decided the $75/person (air taxes) and the $40/$75 per person/nite (room taxes) was still cheaper than our cheapest air-fare from Detroit.

We weren't about to give them additional funds for 'peak' times or 'non-std. departure' times. We were careful to follow their instructions 'to-a-T': including the ridiculus need for a "Postal Money Order" in lieu of a 'Certified' or 'Cashier's Check' for the deposit which they would 'hold' for a minimum of the 90 day advance plus the trip time and 4-6 weeks after we would send in the 'used' boarding passes. (We were also careful to copy all corespondence (including reservation request form) as well as send it certified with proof of delivery recipt.)

When we didn't hear anymore from them, we assumed (Per Their Terms and Conditions - Items 5,9, & 10) that we would receive our tickets 14 days before our 6/11/03 departure date.) When we hadn't received them by 5/29/03, we obtained their Florida phone number to verify our departure date.

A Ms. Glynette [(813)621-1400 ext. 325] informed us that our departure date was not available and according to "Their" computer we were sent a notice to that effect on 3/27/03. I doubt that such a letter was ever sent - besides if they didn't get a new reservation request from us why didn't they send us a 2nd. notice. They have no proof the letter was ever sent. They said we could pick another date after the 1st. of Oct. and that our "free trip" was good until Jan.'04.

When I asked for our deposit back she stated they would send it out in 4 to 6 weeks. They can consider this complaint as a written request for our refund. (She didn't say a written request was required but their terms say a wriiten notice at least 30 days before a cancelled departure date.)

After talking to Ms. Glynette, I called "Bluegreen Resorts - Detroit Preview Ctr." [the Time-Share promoter who gave us the 'Free-Trip'] and told them of the rip-off by MVI, suggesting they drop them from their promotions. They took the information from me (Including Cert.No.) and would call Ms. Glynette back.

I wonder how many other 'suckers' would be interested in a 'class-action' suit against MVI (and maybe Bluegreen if they don't drop MVI).
