Consumer's Original Complaint :

BLUE STAR CRUISES - BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM

Extremely rude customer service supervisors

Supervisor claims she has no supervisor that she answers to.

This business “BLUESTAR CRUISES” is a total SCAM, they mispresent the real facts and the fine details of this cruise vacation.

I had booked a cruise with Bluestar Cruises in Feb 2018 with all the upgrades they offered.

This is what happened:

I received a phone call and was told I was chosen for a free cruise to the Bahamas with

Bluestar Cruises and all I would have to do is have a “Great Time” and tell my friends and family about our cruise. Never was I told anything even closely related to any Time Share presentation. At this time I accepted there Free Cruise and paid the booking fee and paid extra for upgrades that they offered me.

I had a second cruise that they offered me I  only upgraded the room to ocean view.

I then wanted to upgrade to the same package I had already booked and paid for in the first cruise package. They said no problem and said for $859 I would have the same package upgrades for hotel, meals and on shore accommodations in both the Bahamas and

Ft. Lauderdale Fl.

After going over the new cruise upgrades and booking dates, I saw that we were not staying at the resort that they advertise in both the verbal sales pitch and on the main website and on the confirmation website page.

The resort that we were sold is the Grand Lucayan Beach & Golf Resort a 326-acre resort advertised with an AAA 4 diamond rating.  The resort that they booked us with is the

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach resort, with only 26 acres no golf course, not even close to what I was sold on. Never was the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach resort ever mentioned, or advertised on any part of the website. It wasn’t until after going over the bookings for the cruise and resort that I discovered the they changed the resort that I was sold on.

Another misrepresentation from the promotions dept.

Never once was I informed or did I agreed to attend any “Time Share presentation” in

Ft Lauderdale at the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. I was told they would book us to stay there because it was a free bonus for the upgrade package that I paid extra and that is was beach front hotel. Afterwards I found out that had to check into the hotel both days and attend the presentation to receive our boarding passes.

My friends that were going on the second cruise are unable to arrive in Ft Lauderdale to check into the hotel and attended the presentation. I called the Bluestar customer care phone number and told them the situation was informed that they must attend the presentation or they would not get boarding passes and that all funds paid would be forfeited, no refunds.

I then asked to talk to a supervisor, I was told I would have to leave my number and that I would be contacted. A was contacted by a lady (name unknown) who said she was the supervisor and what was the issue. I explained our situation and that I would like to be refunded for the $859 I paid for on 10/16/2017. She said there was nothing she could do and that she would not give me a refund. After a few minutes of her telling me I was wrong, she was right and she knows with “1000%” that I am wrong and she was right and I would not get a refund.  I then asked to speak with her supervisor and she said no, she was the supervisor and that there was no one above her. I asked will then I would like to speak with who hired you and signs your pay check. She then got nasty with me and I terminated the phone call.
