I placed an order for a Sony Ericsson HBH-200 Bluetooth headset on 1/13/04 from Bluetoothdirect.com. I received an e-mail on 1/16/04 saying that it had been shipped that day along with a UPS tracking number. As of 1/22/04 I had not received the package. Recognize that I'm in South Jersey, outside of Philly and he's in the Philly area. A turtle could have walked it to my door by now.

So on the 22nd, I e-mailed Mr. Nyce asking where my package was since the UPS tracking doesn't even say that the package was picked up yet. He writes back that the item is on back order for two weeks! We then proceed to have the following e-mail exchange (cut and pasted directly):

Me: Let me get this straight. You lied when you sent me the e-mail saying that my item had been shipped last Friday. Is this correct?

Him: Lied??? PLEASE!! Our system is fully automated, and all of the ducks were in a row until it came to order fulfillment. Our shipping dept ran out of the product after your shipping notice went out. Again, what would you like to do, cancel or remain on the back order?

Me: OK, perhaps you have a different word for it. I don't understand how a company says that something is shipped before it has actually shipped and does not have a handle on its inventory.

Please cancel my order and credit my account. I will order this headset from another company who does not say a product is shipped when it is actually on backorder, whatever you call such behavior.

Him: You got it! GOOD LUCK FINDING IT IN STOCK ANYWHERE ELSE!

Me: Your customer service is phenomenal. I'll be sure to post about your service whenever possible online.

Have a great day.

Him: Oh, I am so glad to hear! Thank you!

Next time take the pole out of your @ss and maybe you will get some respect!

What a lovely man, that!

Add me to the list of those advising everyone to stay away from Bluetoothdirect.com. He lies about shipping dates. I have also never had a vendor be so abusive to me before. Upon checking other websites including eBay, there are myriad complaints about this vendor.

Again, this company insists on its unscrupulous tactics against those who would warn others against it. Here are the simple facts.

I am a physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I've worked there 12 years in the Craig-Dalsimer Division of Adolescent Medicine. Thus the handle "teendoc." Between patient care and research, my career is full time. I choose not to give my name because I fear further harassment from Bluetoothdirect.com for telling the truth about its business practices. They dared me to do so in the e-mails I have in my possession, and as a person of honor, I believe in following through, especially as I cannot believe such heinous practices are allowed to go unchallenged. My case lodged against the company with the BBB requesting that its good business status be removed is still pending. I have also given them negative feedback at Epinions.com and on Howardforums.com.

I happily bought a new telephone in December. As I often get paged while driving to and from work, it seemed best that I buy a headset to use in the car. I checked prices online and saw that Bluetoothdirect.com had a good one. Being someone naive, I didn't feel that I needed to investigate the business practices of the company before purchasing. The subsequent misadventures transpired just as I documented previously. After the abuse I received at Mr Nyce's hands, I then purchased my headset at another online company for, quite surprisingly, a lower price than was offered at Bluetoothdirect.com.

In any event, this is the first I have heard about slander suits. My patients and colleagues would be amused to hear that I have a business selling cellular products, as juggling federal R-01 grant applications with the demands of a practice of only patients from 12-22 would not be taxing enough.

It is quite easy for a company like Bluetoothdirect.com to look at someone's words that she took the time to write to warn others and simply cry, "lies!" It was not, however, easy for me to take the time and effort necessary to warn others about this company. Why did I do so? Because I have never in my 40 years on this earth been treated in such a disrespectful and abusive manner by someone *I* have paid money to for a product. As a woman, an African-American, and as someone who as worked very hard for what she has, I will not stand for it in any measure.

Forewarned is forearmed. Believe the person who is more credible.

The person(s) leaving the remarks are attempting to discredit our Company. We have proof this person(s) has their own similar site selling similar products and is trying to manipulate the customers to buy from them. This person(s) has made several false reports about our Company on various websites.

Our company ships over 400 orders a day. We have been in business since 1994. We would not have the loyal customers returning on a weekly baisis if we acted in the mannor this person, or people state.

We are in the end stages of legal action against this person for slander and various other legal infractions by this customer or people.

Our Company is a member in good standing with Square Trade and the BBB Online.
