Bought a used 2004 Toyota Camry on Sept 29, 2018.  They replaced the windshield, so didn't get to take it home until Monday, Oct 1.  First, their "detailing" didn't include cleaning the engine compartment nor getting the awful stench of stale cigarette smoke from teh inside.  Second, relied on the statement that it was in good shape.  Third, relied on the staement that they would check the brakes, and repair if needed.

Well, the car has warped rotors on the front, making it almost undrivable on highways. Second, after one week of having the car, and less than 50 miles of travel, the check engine light has come on.  Since my daughtetr has it at school, I can't check the code until this evening.  I will update this after finding the code.

This is the SECOND vehicle purchased from Bob Howard Used Cars that needed a break job, to include front rotors. Steer clear of this place unless you WANT to do a break job and alot of repair after the purchase. (And since it was AS IS, I'm stuck with a pile of steaming crap that has to be paid for, fixed, and insured, but haven't even gotten the title yet!)

I can't wait to find out what OTHER break downs are coming when it gets closer to 100 miles we've put on it!

The whole point is that I don't believe Bob Howard Used Cars to be reputable.  We weren't allowed to take the car onto a raod that allowed higher speeds, so the warped rotors didn't make themselves known.   They said brake problems would be fixed upon inspection, but they weren't.

They had not cleaned or detaile dthe car when we looked at it,  and were assured that it would be taken care of.  EVERY other dealership I have been to, either for myself or with someone else, has cleaned the engine compaertment as well.

And either the person that wrote the above rebuttal is either a smart-mouthed know it all (that doesn't know it all), or  a shrill for the car lot.   Yes, a reputable dealer WOULD take care of stuff.   but, in my opinion, BOB HOWARD USED VARS IS NOT REPUTABLE, hence the report here.

Why did you even take the car if the stench was not removed? If you took this thing on a test drive, why did you even agree to take the car BEFORE the problems were fixed, such as the obvious stench?

A reputable dealer WILL NOT stage cars on the used lot with known pre-existing problems and require the buyer to purchase the car before it is fixed.
