I searched the internet to buy a used Panasonic Toughbook laptop with a touchscreen. Bob Johnson's Computer Stuff had some end of lease CF-29 Toughbooks with Touchscreens. I called and discussed them and bought 4 of them, paying $200 per laptop extra for the touchscreen functionality..

I was traveling when they arrived, and so didn't get to try them until I returned. They were supposed to be rush shipped, which I paid for, but they took 5 days too long. Anyway, when I booted them up the Touchscreens did not work. I called but they refused to give any phone support. I called a friend who is in tech support and he confirmed that unless the touchscreen drivers are installed in a precise way that they will not work. I tried to speak to bob Johnson but was refused. The customer service rep Jodi was just plain rude and completely unhelpful.  I asked them to just refund me the extra $200 I had paid each for the touchscreen functionality and they refused.

I am warning people that this company is selling laptops that do not have touchscreen functionality after they have Windows re-installed at end of lease. Beware, the service from this ripoff company is the worst you will ever experience.

We can appreciate this customers complaint.  We did in fact talk with the customer and as is the case with all of our sales we offer a limited lifetime warranty.  This warranty states that we cover the parts and service costs for the first 30 days after the purchase then for as long as you own the laptop we will fix it for the price of the parts.

The laptops in question were in the hands of the customer for almost 6 months with no complaints.  In fact he called us after receiving the first 2 laptops and told us they worked perfectly and that he wanted 2 more just like the first 2.  When he called in to let us know of the problem we gave him the procedure to send them in.  We agreed to fix them for the price of the parts.  If no parts were required there would be no cost other than shipping.

This is our policy and is clearly posted on our website.  When that did not seem to make him happy we agreed to fix the laptops at no cost.  Just ship the units to us for repair.  We felt this was more than fair since he had the laptops for the 6 months.
