Spoke with sales rep first by phone.  They didn't have the car I wanted in inventory but said they could get it for me.  When I arrived to purchase the car they had the vehicle but had removed the Manufacturers Sticker from the window.  I made the rookie mistake of not asking for it.  It took 4 hours to complete the process so they had plenty of time to cover the sticker price with me but I never saw the sticker until a week after the purchase when I was looking for my warranty information.  The warranty information was also not discussed in depth because they were attempting to sell me a "maintenance agreement".  I looked at the manufacturers recommended sell price on the sticker (remember this was folded up in my glove compartment) and saw they had charged me an additional $1,000.00.  They are dishonest which is I believe, one of the worst things you can say about a car dealership.

Did they quote you one price and charge another?  Did you have to pay more than you agreed to pay?   If not, then how is it dishonest?   The "S" in "MSRP" stands for "Suggested".    The dealer is free to charge you whatever price you're willing to pay.  If you didn't do your homework and find out the MSRP and warranty details before you signed, that's not their fault!   It's not uncommon for popular models to sell at a premium above the MSRP, anyway.

In fact it looks like they went the extra mile to get a car for you that was not already in stock.

Look at it this way: before you found that piece of paper in the glove box, were you happy with the price you paid?   If yes, then that piece of paper has not changed anything.  Why not continue to be happy with it?

"I looked at the "MSRP" and saw that they had charged me an additional $1,000". I hate to tell you but you PAID a heck of alot OVER that MSRP. I suspect you bought the vehicle during the cash for clunkers program when most dealers "jacked" up their prices during the time that program was in effect. In this morning's paper many dealers have LOWERED their sales price BACK to what it was before the clunker program. On any "deal", it's how much BELOW MSRP you can get the dealer accept for a few "hot" selling vehicles. ancira's selling the camero for at least $5,000 OVER MSRP.
