Purchased a new PT Cruiser from this dealer. Was told they would pay off the company holding the lean on my trade-in. Was also told that a pre-arranged payment to that company would be stopped because the pay off amount of the vehicle was calculated that day.
A part of my down payment to the car dealer was a check for approximately $422.00. I had to leave town to visit a friend for a few days immediately after purchasing the vehicle. When I returned I found that my check to the car dealer had bounced.
The reason - the previous lean holder withdrew the pre-arranged payment from my checking account.
I confronted Bob Moore's general manager with the problem. Due to their not following through with the previous lean holder I've incurred numerous hot check charges which they refused to do anything about. This, I know is not a gigantic problem but their unwillingness to help made me want to take the vehicle back. I felt that they had essentially broken our contract and as my trade-in was still there and I had only put 300 miles on the PT Cruiser I wanted to return it! They refused. Is there anything I can do?
