Bob Tyler Toyota Pensacola Motor Sales Did credit report without my authorization Pensacola, Florida
I was thinking of purchasing a new Toyota Camry and using my own financing. Much to my surprise Bob Tyler Toyota took it upon themselves to run a credit check which come back just fine with a credit score over 800.
Only problem is, I did not request them to finance the purchase, I use my own credit union.
Needless to say, I did not purchase the car from Bob Tyler, no will I look there in the future. I will use Eastern Shore Toyota in Daphne, AL where they do not run a credit report since they are smart enough to understand that I have my own financing.
Kinda funny that I have now received a letter of denial of credit from Bob Tyler with no explanation as to why and my credit score is still way over 800 according to Equifax.
Be aware that if you even look at a car at Bob Tyler and offer to purchase it, they will run a credit check on you without your knowledge and in turn that does end up hurting a persons credit score in the long run.

No confusion here on my part, I said I was using my own creidit union and Bob Tyler ran a credit report anyway. I don't work for any car dealers and yes there is only 2 Toyota dealers in my area. I put an offer in at Eastern Shore Toyota and they listened & understood that I would use my credit union so they ran no credit report but they wanted more than I was willing to pay for a Camry.
If Bob Tyler wants to know when they sent their letter out to me, I'd think they would be able to look thru their own files to find it.

To run your credit report they would need your SSN. So just how did they get your SSN without your knowlege?
With the mention of the other dealer I would not be surprised that this is a fake report and the OP is either an Ex-Employee or a person from this other dealer.
There are a couple of other "tip offs". You say you WILL(not did) use the other dealer. Because you know they DO NOT(not did not) run credit reports. Unless you know or are associated with that dealer how do you know? Why did you select that one, are there only two in the area?

'Google' this- LOUIS F. HARRELSON ENTERS GUILTY PLEA, and read the related articles on the web.
I believe that Louis F. Harrelson owns at least one Toyota dealership in South Carolina. Most Toyota dealerships in the USA believe in deception, manipulation, & trickery, when attempting to sell and lease vehicles to consumers.
It's the 'Toyota way' of selling cars.

Confusion on the Part of the Customer

Before anyone's credit is run, a signature is required from the customer.
If the customer would provide their name as well as the date of their visit to the dealership,
we would be more than happy to provide the signed document.
We would also like to request a copy of the letter stating that someone with an 800 Beacon was denied credit.
Lastly, we find it extremely bold of someone to make the statement,
"Be aware that if you even look at a car at Bob Tyler and offer to
purchase it, they will run a credit check on you without your
knowledge and in turn that does end up hurting a persons credit score in
the long run."
Until the requested information is given to us to review, we can only assume this customer
assumed a credit report was run erroneously and the statement of any wrongdoing on the part
of Bob Tyler Toyota is false.

you can read the letter that Frank wrote and sent to the Finance Committee Chairman. Frank posted it at this website and at another site for everyone to read.
You can do the same thing. Toyota's corporate address is available at this website. Just type in 283703 and it appears at the end of 'Consumer Comment #1' at Ripoff Report #283703.
Good luck.
