Body Central has some rather unique articles of clothing. Regardless of the fact that they have unusually high shipping costs and no coupon or reward system for their long-time customers, they're clothing is still ok. I recently paid extra to have an item shipped 1-2 business days. The item came not as specified, meaning there was a belt, but the belt was not included in the purchase. When I called customer service, they said that I either return the item (after paying for shipping) or I receive the item with shipping waived TEN days later; I needed the item that weekend, which is why I specifically paid for 1-2 business day shipping. The company is small and they had no one higher up to explain and their answer to my complaint was: "It's your fault, you didn't read the fine print"

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, July 13, 2011

...before I had purchased from Body Central CHMD - despite having done a search.  Otherwise, I more than likely would not have purchased anything from them to begin with.  Since I had been ordering from Body Central, I have encountered others who have experienced similar problems with them - myself included on my last and final order: (items missing,  items poorly sewn together,  poor quality material, dyed care labels where the dye SHOULD have been on the cloth instead,  care labels literally sewn INTO the article of clothing,  Rayon blouses complete with holes -  or -  having to wait for weeks on end for an order with expedited shipping attached.  And most definitely - non-existent customer support).  In my humble opinion, the company should no longer exist.

Since you have filed your report, with the passage of time - Body Central is not quite so small anymore.  Just go to their website and do a store location search and you'll see that they have spread out like a mass of cockroaches when the light has been turned on.  My suggestion is to file a consumer complaint with the Maryland State Attorney General's office (I fully intend to do so as soon as I'm awake enough with both my state and that of the state of Florida (which is where I had ordered from).  And don't stop there.  Report the incident to any and ALL consumer protection agencies you can think of.  Contact the corporate office.

Also, spread the word on this company - tell *everyone* you know about Body Central and exactly how you were treated by "customer service".  How, pray tell was this issue *your* fault when you had actually paid extra for expedited shipping.  How is this issue *your* fault when Body Central apparently has no concept of the phrase *Quality Control*??!  WHAT terms of service??  You pay for an item ... that item gets shipped without anything missing - period.  Unless of course, something was on back order and I seriously doubt that pertains to a belt that was *supposed* to be part of your outfit.

Again, remember - spread the word on Body Central.  Word of mouth could spell the rise or downfall of a company.  Since they have toyed with me approximately a month ago (and still are by lack of response) - my friends are avoiding Body Central like the plague, and they are also spreading the word around.  If everybody who has been cheated by them would do so ... we *would* eventually see their downfall.

So, to recap:
*Report Body Central to the Maryland State Attorney General's consumer complaint department,
(Should you do so, that will make three complains in three separate states that we know of).
*Tell everyone you know - and then some.  Attach a signature line to your e-mail - that will spread like wildfire.
*Report everything to all consumer protection agencies you can think of
*Even though I was ignored three times, shoot them off an e-mail and tell them what you think (and by all means - RETAIN a copy so they can't put words in your mouth).
*Contact the corporate office.

I think from now on ... I'll stick with the higher end, well known respected vendors (especially when they're having their semi-annual sales).

Hope this helps - Peace, out.
