Body Of Change Ripoff Body of Change complaints changed my mind!!! I cancelled my agreement Lawrenceville Georgia
Thank you for all of your warnings. After my first session with my trainer I decided to check Body of Change out on the internet. I should have done this first. I read all of the complaints about Body of Change and their terrible business practices. I also check the BBB's website to find their status as unsatisfactory and unresolved complaints. I got that sinking feeling in my stomach and knew that I had to cancel my contract as soon as possible. I even tried to talk myself out of cancelling, thinking that this won't happen to me. I knew deep down that I would be kicking myself after seven business days. I kept thinking that all of the things that happened in the other stories wouldn't happen to me. That may be true, but when I looked up the information on the BBB's website I knew that I had to cancel.
During my first session with my personal trainer, he had me work on the most difficult equipment on the floor. I had to pull my entire body weight up as though doing a chin up. Let's see, after being inactive for 10 years and only my first session, why would a trainer have someone do that? I am lucky that I am able to type this message. That is how sore my arms are today. I asked the trainer how long had he been doing this, "for just a month"? I feel like I just went water skiing for the first time in 10 years and I know I wouldn't do that if I weren't in shape.
After signing my contract on March 16th, I cancelled my contract today, March 19th. After reading all the awful stories of missed appointments, contract and payment disputes, and just flat out bad business practices, I had to cancel. After dealing with such a nice and accomadating general manager at the club, she was not at all happy that I came to cancel my contract. She would hardly say a word to me after she had been so nice and so personable. Even though my reason to her was not questioning their business practices at all, she quickly scribbled my cancellation receipt and sent me on my way. I didn't give her the truth because I want to be sure that I get my money back. I am holding my breathe that I do. She claimed it would take 30 days to return my money. We'll see what happens.
I have followed their contract with every detail of cancellation and I have gone above this by faxing and by sending my cancellation certified mail to their corporate office in Phoenix.
Thank you so much for all of your stories. This helped me tremendously. I hope this may help others that may be trying to decide whether they did the right thing or not.
