This is a story of how I was misled, cheated, and ultimately driven to destitution and ruin. Bonnie Mehlinger is by no means the sole instigator of these torrid events, but at the same time I cannot excuse her~~ she was a notable constituent, and a powerful negative force, as I tried to keep my business alive. Her lies, manipulation, and tactics of subversion rank second to none in all the licentious trash I stepped in over the course of my fifty, mainly painful and downtrodden, years of life on this planet.
I had worked with Bonnie for a few years before I had a dreadful medically based incident in the hallway of an intolerant client who would not heed my warnings about an intestinal problem, and he paid the consequences. At that time, Bonnie had a manager by the name of John, who fired me upon hearing of this mishap.
About a year and a half later, Bonnie called to tell me that she had dismissed this abusive manager, and offered me a job at her new office in East Cambridge as a rental broker. Out of work at the time, I seized the opportunity. This was May, 2005.
In July, 2005, I bought up a magnificent property in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, from the bank who was days away from foreclosing upon it. It was in a divorce estate, and I was good friends with the husband. $600,000 cash~~ no whiffs, spam, or cigarette butts. A recent appraisal had come in at $940,000 for the LOT ALONE:-- Indian Neck, Wellfleet, 57,000 square feet, with deeded rights to a half-mile long inland beach, 2 tennis courts, and general landscaping services, @ $300/year. The house was a mess, though I planned to renovated it and sell the following year.
Enter Bonnie Mehlinger. I had just taken a rental brokerage position with her in Cambridge, so she asked me to focus upon her office, as she focused upon my newly found paradise on Cape Cod. She had a Brazilian contractor who spoke no English:- I speak fluent French and respectable German, but this did pose a problem. This person went down to Wellfleet three times, wrote an estimate of $25,000 for a small amount of work he could do, and Bonnie asked me to pay half up front. I wrote her a check in the amount of $12,500.
This guy was supposed to show up the next day to start working. A Home Depot delivery truck had gotten hung up, but there was plenty of work that this guy, and his crew, [none of whom spoke English,] could do. The foreman at least spoke a little bit of English, and I told him what to do. The lower level of the house had taken on mold, due to a mid-winter malfunctioning water tank explosion. This was August, not March. I instructed him to open all the windows on that lower level, wear face masks, [which I supply, if needed,] and demo the entire lower level. "Trash everything" is what they were instructed to do. When I say "gut job," that means don't stop for anything short of exterior walls, interior [structural load] bearing members, and things like the floor joists, window and door frame headers, or lolipoles [small, circular supports made of solid steel, usually put in to shore up stresses of settling, increased weight above, or geological changes.]
In this case, no structural, bearing member, or geological factors were involved. The foundation was perfectly intact, and under no extraneous stresses of and kind. It was as perfect in 2005 as it was in 1967, when the house was built. Despite questionable topography, not once had the basement ever taken on water. Whoever built the place back in 1967 knew d**n well what they were doing!-:)* Its design, engineering, and construction were every bit as good as anything that any builder could produce today.
Three drives down from Somerville to Wellfleet and back, and these jackasses didn't do a lick of work. My friend Michael, from whose divorce estate I had purchased the property, had been previously advised as to what I wanted the men to do, once they arrived on site. He put me on the phone with the foreman, who complained that they were still waiting on a delivery truck from Home Depot, which was late. I said OK, go start the downstairs demo. A fresh, empty 40-yard dumpster was sitting in the yard, waiting to be filled. They refused to work, sat around for an hour or so drinking beer and smoking cancer styx, then left. The third time was a total no-show; the foreman had drunk himself into the hospital, and was deported back to Brazil. Thanks, Bonnie.
It was costing me $300 a day to carry this property. My primary contractor, who had done six projects for me here in Cambridge, stepped in and picked up the ball. Early 2006; I had two oyster beds, which were obliterated during a terrible storm just the month before. [This same disaster also obliterated my parents' prized apple tree, in Vermont.] Winds over 90 MPH turned my rooftop cinder blocks into death sentences, and along comes 3 feet of snow during February. I couldn't get in there, even with a 4-wheel drive Infiniti FX-45 [new snow tires, too.]
Of the initial $12,500 I gave Bonnie to start the project, she did return $10,000 of it to me after her drunken, hospitalized, illegal alien head contractor was deported back to Brazil.
The other $2,500 was supposed to pay for an order of glass tile, from her supplier in Watertown. She showed me a receipt, and I asked the vendor to ship the tile directly to my address on Cape Cod; Michael would sign for it.
Weeks went by, and the tile never showed up. I finally drove over the the Watertown tile gallery, and asked what happened to my $2,500. They told me that Bonnie placed the order, but never paid for it. Sound familiar???? That $2,500 of mine went straight up her son's nose.
November, 2005. Bonnie's drug-addicted son Scott, and controlling daughter Rebecca, were controlling not only her business, but also her household. Scott wrecked up her Mercedes, and she begged and pleaded with me to pay for the repairs. She said there was a condo under agreement~~ that was true, but I didn't see nickel one. Next, her drug addicted son Scott [for whom she had bought a $38,000 the year before, YEAH!, he graduated from high school,] "decided" he might go back to college, so she begged me again to advance $2,000 TO U-MASS, so that he could start classes that January.
He never attended one single class.
I sued Bonnie Mehlinger in 2007, under three separate actions in small claims court.
These were:--
$2,500 for the balance of my deposit for her derelict contractor to work on my home in Wellfleet. Her son, Scott-- had put it up his nose.
$1,750+- for repairing her Mercedes SUV, that Scott had smashed up, high on drugs.
$2,000 for the tuition payment I made on her son's behalf~~ to start a semester of school where he didn't attend one single class.
There was also a smaller suit for two real estate commissions Bonnie owed me, for apartments I had rented in the fall of 2005. Her estranged, silent business partner did pay me in full, so I dismissed that particular action. I conducted one of these rentals entirely in French; I am 100% fluent in this, and several other foreign languages.
In court, I won on all three cases.
Here comes the real show of who Bonnie Mehlinger is:--
During a court recess, she demanded that I drop all the actions against her; if I would not, she first threatened, and then tried for real, to call my wife, to tell her that I was having an affair with a drug addicted woman, and had been supporting this person for a period of no less than five years.
Bonnie Mehlinger left this exact message upon my voice mail, and I have it on tape. It may be illegal to record a conversation without both parties' consent in the state of Massachusetts, but when you leave a message on an answering device, you ALREADY KNOW that you're being recorded, and under the law, this both conveys assent to the recording, and makes it admissible in a court of law..........
I HAVE THE TAPE, AND SEVERAL BACK-UP COPIES.
The magistrate wouldn't allow me to play it in open court, though all of the lawsuits I filed against this creature were found in my favor. She paid $2,000 piecemeal of the judgements totaling roughly $5,200, then stopped paying when I filed complaint with the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. They couldn't link my grievance a with specific real estate transaction, so found that this matter doesn't fall within their jurisdiction.
I shall close in stating that no one, not even Bonnie Mehlinger, deserve to have been subject to the violent home invasion that she, her daughter, and friends, were subject to on July 5, 2008. Eric Morale will die in prison, and if he were actually sorry for his actions that early summer morning, he would reveal the identity of his accomplice. If I were Bonnie Mehlinger, her daughter, or any of the other young girls violated that day, I could consider accepting an apology from Eric Morale if, and only if, he should feel fit to bring his fellow filth to face the same justice he has.....
Meanwhile, doing business of any kind with Bonnie Mehlinger, is asking to get ripped off. She is a crook.

I have just been told about this report. I have read all of them. This is outrangeous. I don't know where to start. Douglas Pratt is a very sick man. None of this is true. Let me start by saying I got a call from this man saying he had been fired by a very large realtor in Cambridge because of having many incidents of incontinence while showing apartments. He told me that he was under medical treatment and no agency who give him a job. I decided to take a chance and give him a job,out of the goodness if my heart.
After finding out that this was not trueI fired him. He then keep showing up in my office asking me if he could just use my computer for his work on his house project. This house down the cape was acquired from his friend Dr. Michael Becker. He is a level 3 sex offender accused of molesting his own children. He was in the middle of a divorce and Doug took over the house for him, after getting out of jail. He asked me if I knew of a contractor to help him. I recomended Gerald Azevedo. He is a citizen of the United States of America,and was never deported to Brazil. This is insaneHe wasgiven a$2500 deposit for work to be done on the house. He bought materials, and commmuted from Cambridge to the Cape many times. He quit the job,because when he was there he found Mr.(previously) Dr. Becker and Mr. Pratt, and his girlfrienddrunk.
I don't know why my son Scott is even mentioned here, but my son was injured in prep school at a hockey game and became addicted to pain medication in his jr year of high school. He was treated in Minnesota at Hazelton Rehab.He was not even around when Doug says that this happened. I never even looked at a condo in Boston,let alone close on it.He never applied or went to U-Mass. He went to Suffolk University in 2005.My car payment at he time was$424 plus changewhich is really none of anyones business,but I would like to set the record straight. My house was never bought for me by my brother,who doesn't live in N.Y.C. It was left to me and my children when my mother died. My daughter Rebecca was 13 years old when he said that she was controlling my business. I find that a little hard to believe, as would anyone else. My business partner at the time was Antonia Shelzi who was and still is a very large drug dealer. I knew that she was in the past and after spending time in Framingham State Prision, she told me that she wasn't doing it anymore,but that was not true.I haven't had anything to do with her because of that,not because of Doug or whatever else anyone may think.
Dougs wife, Enid,who I had met many times prior to this incident is a lovely woman. I did call her because I found out that Doug was having an affair with a woman who was a drug addict,habitual gambler,andmany other things that were draining his money. It is not anything to do with me.
Doug decided to sue me for all of these things.I paid him $2000 of which I previous paid him back, but I had no reciept so I got scammed. I am a very honest person. I have neverchanged any leases or whatever he says that I did. I have landlords that have been with me for many years. Not only have they been with me for many years,they uses me exclusively because I do a very good job for them. I don't do business with landlords that don't take care of there tenants. Therefore I have an excellant reputation and clients that have used me many times over.
The slander in this report is unacceptable. The fact that Doug speaks many languages is of no consequence since he is always drunk.Last but not least the mention of the home invasion in my home is disgusting that he would even mention it. Doug you are a very disturbed person. This is not human. DO NOT ever contact me or my family again.

First off let me just say even if Ms. Bonnie Mehlinger was as demeaning as you say , you are just as bad by even exposing her on this report. I wil start back in 2005, buying a home is no easy task especially when remodeling is involved. Hiring someone you didn't know nor seen a portfolio from, better yet WAS NOT LEGAL is on your own shoulders. Bonnie did not shove a knife down your throat and tell you to have your house remodeled by this certain contractor.
As an adult you should know if it's not legal , IT PROBABLY WILL IN THE LONG RUN CATCH UP TO YOU. YOU STEAL - you are punished.
Hence IL ( not ) LEGAL ( allowed by law ).
As a reliable source , Ms. Bonnie Mehlinger never pried her eyes upon your Cape Cod Estate - I don't even think she has ever once been to the Cape in the past decade. At the time Ms. Mehlinger was working with a certain contracter but she was not a partener, her tactics were not to ruin your home. Whoever this drunken Brazilian partner was , i'm sure she wasn't telling him or his workers to sit on their a*s . His mistakes were not just faulted on you but probably her and others as well. The term " you are never alone ". I cannot defend her on the $2,500 that went missing for the tile , but I will say this. At the time if their was a family defaulted situation where her son needed to be taken care of YOUR TILES were probably not as important as her son. Her son never wrecked her vehicle, and even if he did a Mercedes Benz costs more then $1,700 to fix. And if he has his own $38,000 vehicle, ( which the vehicle he owned was not worth that indicated amount ) , why would use his mothers? " A fool and his money are soon parted " This is where this comes in - if you KNEW her son was getting high WHY would you agree to send him back to school ?
As knowing who " Bonnie Mehlinger " is , you don't . Rebuttling by leaving a voicemail is called defense . If you were cheating on your wife then shame on you, who is the liar ? Remeber something business is business , nobody said business was about friends it's a survival of the fittest , and you clearly have no experience on how to do so.
The house invasion is not relevant to your civil actions and slander to Ms. Bonnie Mehlinger. It is in reality NONE absolutely none of your business. Her son is a past drug abuser. People do not choose to be addicts it chooses them . The support of loved ones gets them away from addiction and for a promising future with praise and realization of the wrong done in the past . I don't think Mr. Mehlinger would have chose to spend your tile money on drugs, even though his addiction was not even the illegal narcotic of Cocaine. Her brother and their financial transactions are not fr the public eye,neither is his salary.

People's personal lives should not be exposed on the internet. I understand you may have hardships now but we all do. This woman has been through a house fire, a home invasion, as well as a close to dear death. Enyet life is what you make it , and $3,500 is not going to change your life. In other words....
