Bonoventure Senior Living Monticello Park Harrassed, Intimidated, and Verbally Abused by the office manager. Longview, Washington
I work for another assisted living facility on graveyard but the hiring staff had to have me come in on a work day where I had gotten off of work in the early morning and I was scheduled to return that same day at ten P.M. to begin my shift. I was to fill out new hire paperwork at 2:00 P.M. and I did that but then they wanted for me to do a drug test for which would not have been a problem had I not have voided for my time "morning."
I explained to the on duty male RN, Lewis of my circumstances and he said there was no problem and we could do this at a later date. So, I went out to my truck and had already backed out of the parking spot and was slowly decending around the building's corner when my cell phone rang. I quickly answered it and the female caller identified herself as Daesa from Monticello Park. She told me that I need to get back in the building.
I asked what was wrong and she repeated herself with more urgency. I asked again what was wrong and she began to bellow at me that I could not take off whenever I wanted to and that I needed to get back in here and take the drug test. I attempted to explain to her what my reasons were for not being able to as I could not void. She yelled at me that I needed to stop arguing with her and making excuses and she went to tell me that I had no right to refuse to take a drug test.
Again, I tried to explain to her that I could not pee and that I was not trying to be evasive. I was merely doing what Lewis said and that is when she muffled her voice on the phone and said, "Lewis doesn't know what he's talking about! You need to stop arguing with me and get back in her!" I then asked to speak to someone else because she was just going off the deep end and this did not feel right to me. She said okay and I waited less than a minute for her to return to teh phone and tell me that she just talked with Lewis and they both agreed that I needed to come back in there, now!
What am I suppossed to do if I can't pee?' I asked her. She then said to me that I had coffee in my mug (thermos for which I corrected her that it was water. She then accussed me of trying to cover up my activity for which I said to her that I wasn't running away from anything. I could not pee and I didn't know when the next time I would be able to since all I drink practically is water, and water stays in your body much longer than caffine and carbonated, high fructose beverages. She then screamed at me that I needed to shut-up and stop arguing with her, and get my a** back in there!!!
That is when I said to her, "No. This has gone too far. You put my paperwork aside" and I hung-up.
The next time I was to speak to someone from the date of that incident of May 4, 2012 it was Sunday, May 6, 2012. I spoke with the hiring personnel woman Stacy about what had happened and she decided that both of us were wrong and that it was just in the best interst of everyone involved for her to retract the offer of full-time med-aide to me and give it to someone else.
