Bonzi Spyware filled my hard drive with crap, stole my time and privacy
My daughter's former friend e-mailed her a "free subscription" to Bonzi. After she followed the link in the e-mail she tried to decline but the software wouldn't let her.
It changed the homepage added a BonziBuddy WebCompass toolbar that can't be removed even by uninstalling and litterally took over the computer for over an hour.
There is NO WAY to contact Bonzi-they give you lots of ways to get their software but YOU CAN'T contact a human.
Fortunately you can find out how to do a partial uninstall at http://www.pchell.com/support/bonzibuddy.shtml
Once Bonzi has started to install you can't uninstall until you have done a complete installation which takes up 100's of MB on your hard-drive. I didn't have enough room on my hard-drive so I had to delete all of daughter's games just to make enough space for Bonzi's crap-all in order to be able to uninstall Bonzi.
Once the download is complete, the stupid monkey takes control of your computer for almost an hour and demands a bunch of personal info just to complete the installation so you can uninstall.
Some of the components just won't go and it is still monitoring where I go online.
My daughter has blocked her former best friend's e-mail address and wants to punch her in the nose.
Don't let your kid's send this "gift" to anyone. If anyone knows a way to get in touch with Bonzi let me know so I can flame them.
