First, I am sending this for no personal gain other to protect my friend who thinks that what I am about to tell you is the greatest thing since sliced pie. I went to a meeting last night that a friend asked me to attend. I only went to see what was going on and what advice I could give him about the new Boomj.com phenomena. Well, I have been to a few pyramid scheme meetings in my time, but this was the best so far....and so well thought out. It was just like one I went to around the early 90's for water purifiers, same exact presentation, but with a better thought out product.....internet advertising and how they can lead buyers to their websites. It was not that the water purifiers could not sell; however, even if they could be sold, the majority of the folks trapped into spending money on the program could not sell them or chose a buy in to become recruiters of sellers whom they would make money from their sales. This program could also work, but not under the guise of a multi-level pyramid marketing scheme. Just like all the other schemes, this one gives a big commission, stock options (which are the catch), bonus dollars, etc. The owner fully intends on selling the company in a few years and bringing extreme value to the stock options....what a joke. I have been in advertising for 20 years and they think that they can hire people off of the street to sell advertising to businesses...or should I say web packages to businesses. This is a marketing scheme and it is total idiocy and, even if it is under good intentions, which I doubt, it will not happen. The only people who will make any money are those who recruit the folks below them who are to buy in for $300 if they want to become branding specialists. If they want to just go out and sell, there is no cost; but that is the part they are using to make it seem all good and great; selling this product will not be what a person chooses, they will, more than likely choose to buy in and be branding specialists too!! But the reality is that very few people will be out selling these websites and will be paying the $300 buy in....and after Saturday this week it goes to $1,000....high pressure to put up $300 now. I cannot believe how repetitive this was to the first pyramid scheme I saw in the early 90's. As I said, this scheme is no different from the rest, only a little more high tech and sophisticated to hide that the service being sold is ridiculous. And once it is realized that this is a scheme, shop will close up and the owner will have made a fortune and the little people will have lost again. I am looking out for my friend. What do you think?

Hi Ross,

I was at the same meeting last night and your so called FACTS are not right. I agree w/ the previous comment that your "20-Yrs of Advertising Experience" & your little newspaper you own is in some SERIOUS JEOPARDY of being DOMINATED and Shut Down by the Power of LocalAdLink's business Model. First off, there was no Pitch that was presented last night that if someone did not come aboard before Saturday Feb. 28th as a "Brand Builder" the Initial Price would increase from $300 to $1,000. That is NOT on the Plans for LocalAdLink at any Further Time down the road - PERIOD!!! To use Words like Pyramid Scheme is Ridiculous when over 60% of our Revenues come from AD SALES!!! LocalAdLink gives an equal opportunity for anyone to Earn a Honest Living only with the combination of Hard Work, Diligence & Integrity without someone paying anything to get started. And anyone that chooses to pay the Initial ONE TIME FEE of $300 to become a Brand Builder there are NO Requirements to Purchase the Ad Product or Services unlike every other Network Marketing Co. out there. Most MLN Companies only Succeed Financially because their Sales Force or Teams are consuming the product internally. However; LocalAdLink's well thought out business model only works if our Sales Force is actually out there in the market place selling the valuable services to our communities. Next Time before you release your True HEARTFELT CONCERN to your Friends Get your Facts Right or just be Honest with everyone that you are WORRIED that your Business has Some SERIOUS COMPENTION that is probably going Take your current Existing Clients as well as your Sales Force that are currently working for you.
