Purchased AquaStar 250SXNG water heater '05. Started malfunctioning within 6 months. Telephoned after following troubleshooting instructions in manual. Was given several suggestions, which I followed. Still shutting down or tripping off when turning on hot water. At first it happened maybe once a month. Then every two weeks until it started shutting down four to five times a day.

I telephoned, was given all types of ridiculous excuses by customer service representatives. Finally they convinced me to purchase a temperature sensor. Had that installed by a plumber on July 02 '08. In exactly one month after August 2, '08 it tripped off. I telephoned Bosch and was told by a representative that it was probably due to unusually cold weather. When I told him it was August - he offeredto send two sensors BUT insisted that I get the plumber in to talk to him (0r another rep) as he was installing the new sensor. This to be sure that he was installing it correctly.

I then asked to speak to a supervisor, was told she was in a meeting. When I insisted on receiving her telephone number, I was given the number of Ms. Mary Ellen Sullivan at xt 3474 at Bosch's 800 # (800-642-3111). I telephoned, left a message for Ms. Sullivan and am still waiting for a return call. That was January 7, 2009.
