Purchased a Sealy firm pillow top mattress in November 2006.  Started having a lot of issues with it in 2010.  Called Boscov's customer service, technician came & measured, took pictures, etc.  Customer Service states mattress falls within correct parameters of their specs with regard to the warranty.  This back and forth measuring with Premier has been nothing short of a total joke.  This company is contracted by Boscov's & of course they work for them, forget about any goodwill gestures or even working with the consumer!  This mattress costs over 1,000 & you cannot even sleep on it, that money was just like throwing it down a F"in toilet!  I was told by a salesman at the Colonial Park store that you have to really keep on customer service to do anything for you or if they (Boscovs) will not do anything for the consumer because they do not want to LOSE ANY MONEY!  And he also stated that mattresses only last around 6 years!!!  So to h**l with the consumer.  I was also told by a customer service rep. that I bought a plush soft mattress & this is how it is supposed to be!! I know what I bought in 2006 & it was a firm pillow top!  What a bunch of liars!  They will do anything or say anything to get out of upholding any type of warranty a consumer has with any type of purchase!  I will never shop or buy at this shoddy store ever again.  They even sell 2nds & thirds from what I have been told when I spoke with another store in the area.  So BUYER BEWARE!  Their reputation sucks & they won't do one d**n thing for the customer nor will they believe you!  DO NOT SHOP HERE is my best advice.   I hope they go out of business with the way they treat their customers.  And their merchandise is also awful & disgusting!  NEVER SHOP AT ANY BOSCOV LOCATION!!! HORRIBLE store to deal with!

Yes I totally agree with this peson who purchased a defective mattress & how Boscovs treats their customers.

Why would you have a warranty if you cannot use it!! I had a mattress that was also bad & had to fight tooth & nail with these idiots.  I did finally have to go to the Better Business Bureau for results and won!! Wow where the heck is customer service and a consumer oriented business??  REALLY!  I really can believe that a few consumers out there use & abuse merchandise, but then there are those that really do have issues with items without destroying them.

I worked there a long time ago & YES they do sell questionable merchandise that's is not made that great & comes from 3rd world countries & sold as "designer."  I agree I won't ever shop there either even since I worked there a number of years ago!  Whoever responded to this consumer must be a real nasty seneless individual working there!! Well why would you want to shop there when this worker responded in such a horrible way to this consumer only fustrated with their purchase!  I wouldn't want this individual waiting on me!!

Defective Mattress?

I work at Boscov's and the store does seem to have a problem with consumers who USE and DESTROY the merchandise and come back years later expecting either their money returned or a new item. Boscov's return policy is, in my opinion, far too generous.  The store usually takes things back, no questions asked, but in this case they probably balked because the customer had used the mattress for FOUR YEARS before complaining.  If something is really defective, a person would definitely know that before even four months had passed.  This seems to be a customer problem and issue, unfortunately.

To the best of my knowledge, Boscov's does not sell "seconds" or poor quality merchandise.  Of course "another store" would say this because their comissioned salesperson wants the sale!  If something is irregular, it goes to the "tent," "auditorium" or clearance area, which is their bargain basement area. As I mentioned, they have a very generous return policy and will take merchandise back within a reasonable amount of time, like 30 days or even 60 days. However no reasonable person can expect to use something for FOUR to FIVE YEARS and expect to return it for a new item.  I notice that this customer never said what the technicians found as to the condition of the mattress, and that is very telling in and of itself.

I know of cases where people have attempted to return shoes that they wore for two years, formal wear that they had clearly worn to an affair, pajamas that had been worn and then laundered, cookware that was accidentally burned up on the stove due to negligance, appliances that had clearly been abused and broken by the customer, etc.  One woman even tried to return a vacuum cleaner that she had destroyed by using it for a commercial cleaning business even though the sweeper's warranty clearly said that it was "for household use only."  Another sweeper was returned with drywall dust clogging it up because it had been used for construction clean-up.

Boscov's has a real problem with people who "use up" the product or else destroy and wear out the product, then attempt to return it years later and expect their money back or a free replacement.  I believe that this is exactly what happened in this case. The warranty for most mattresses is only about 5 years and is contingent upon the owner REGISTERING for the warranty (very important), and is also contingent upon the owner following all instructions for maintaining the mattress.  For example it is important to purchase BOTH the mattress and the box spring at the same time because only the matching box spring will provide the proper support for the mattress.  The use of an old box spring can cause the mattress to fail and may void the warranty.  Mattresses also must be TURNED periodically as part of their care to avoid body indentations. If a person NEVER turns their mattress and it gets indented, that is their fault, not the store's or the manufacturer's.  They should also be kept clean by the use of a mattress cover or pad.  Perhaps the owner failed to do his part (like not registering for the warranty, or failing to turn the mattress).  At any rate, the store cannot be blamed for the owner's failure to take proper care of the merchandise and the store should not have to replace any product that has clearly been abused by it's owner.
