Boston Union Realty Security Deposit Ripoff Boston, Massachusetts
I provided a $1500 security deposit to Boston Union Realty for a one bedroom unit. When I left the apartment I had the apartment professionally cleaned and supervised the cleaning. I informed the real estate office when I turned in my key that I had the apartment cleaned. They said ok. I now had to wait 30 days to get my deposit back. Upon receipt they had deducted $150 for the cleaning and a shade they claimed was broken. Apparently I had to provide them a copy of the invoice for the cleaning which I had not done. I subsequently did and also asked for evidence that the shade was broken. They said they took photos and would get back to me. After four phone calls, four emails, and no responses I am filing this report. It is clear to me this is an abusive tactic and one where they hold the money so they are in control. The fact that they have refused to respond to my calls and emails is very unprofessional. I would strongly discourage anyone from working with them!
