If you think that BowFlex is an honest company then read my story.  My 73 year old disabled father was talked into buying a Bowflex Tread Climber via telphone.  His wife, my mother passed away 5/2009.  It is my understanding from him that he was told he would be able to workout and get into shape etc. using the most expensive Treadmill they had.  He told me it would only cost him $2000.00 with $40.00 a month.  My father told me he knew nothing about any interest or the fact the Treadmill was actually around $2600.00.  Again, my father is a disabled 73 year old man, has had 3 back operations, is on several pain meds for his back and a diabetic on top of all that.  I contacted Bowflex to talk with them about this matter, I was emailed 3 times in which I was told to contact HSBC, as it was stated to me that my father's agreement was with HSBC not Bowflex.  I just took over my father's finances a few months ago so I have been making payments to HSBC in order to keep my father's credit in good shape until I have this issue resolved with Bowflex.  When I contacted HSBC about this issue with my father, the payments that come out of his account auto draw suddenly started showing up as received late and late charges began showing up.   I had contacted them once and was given credit for the late charge, but told them that I was in the process of getting the Treadmill either sent back or something done about the uneithical way my father was sold the Treadmill.  The next month payment was due on 12/19/09.  The payment was made by bill pay and receipted and shown as paid with a check number on 12/17/09. My father called me all upset because HSBC called and told him he was behind by two months.  I have contacted HSBC 3 times and faxed them verification as to the payments being paid to them and acknowledged with a check number and paid before the due date but they keep harrassing my father and telling me to call back at a later date to talk to someone else.  I received a bill today showing that his interest rate has went from 16.99% to 23.99%, now and he now owes double what his payments are.  HSBC is a ripoff finance company and something needs to be done about it.  I consider BowFlex to be as responsible as HSBC because they will take no responibility for what has happened with my father
