Complaint Review: Boyd's Automotive

Boyd's Automotive Tommy Boyd I took my truck to have the transmission taken out and a new one that i had purchased and had delivered to his shop, he quoted me 450.00$ to 500.00$ at first and then after i put 200.00$ down for a deposit he told me it was going to be 600.00$ (for labor). He kept raising the price of the labor each time i called and checked on my vehicles status, he also told me it would only take about a week to have my vehicle done, it ended up being 3 1/2 weeks before i got my truck back and for a job that was only supposed to cost me 600.00$ max ended up costing me 1200.00 $$ Harker Heights Texas

I took my truck to have the old transmission taken out and new one put in, I was quoted 450.00 to 500.00$ on the high side he said. so, i thought that was fair, and put 200.00$ deposit down, i was then told it should only take a week or so for all the work to be done.

After the 1st week went by, i called to check the status of my vehicle, and he says it's comming along it should only be a couple days more.

Now 2 weeks have gone by i call once again to check the status of my vehicle he then tells me oh you need a transfer case to, fine no problem i give him the $$ for the transfer case and ask again when truck will be done he says 2 days tops.

Four days later i call once again and he says im trying it's hard to get it all together, and tells me his vehicle broke down and he cant go  anywhere,-- fine whatever i tell him

Now we are going on 3weeks and still no vehicle done i have to call this guy everyday to check on my truck and its always one excuse after another. 3 1/2 weeks total he had my truck and it ended up costing me 1200.00$$ total and had the nerve to tell me he was gonna charge me 50$ for his gas expense for going and getting parts for my vehicle

I finally get my truck back and it runs like crap he cut my exhaust to get the transmission out and never bothered to fix it, my truck runs real rough and wont hardly shift gears.

Here we are 2 weeks later after getting my truck back and it's broke down again, transmission wont shift out of 1st gear and the seal busted open.

i call him back to tell him about it and he just kinda shruggs it off.

I pay out 1200.00$ to this man and only to end up now with no running vehicle.

Since my last report, i have taken my truck to B&M transmissions to be fixed, only to find out that my original problem was much worse than i thought...

Upon B&M Transmissions inspection they found my tranfer case was ziptied to my transmission, there was murky water inside the transfer case, brackets put on upside down/backwards.

I think this is absolutely absurd, I have now had to spend an additional $2,100.00 to get my truck fixed correctly. I have pictures of the things that were installed wrong.

I will be seeking legal action this time..
