One Monday, on my way to get my van serviced, I stopped to get gasoline. As I started to leave, my car stopped. An older gentleman who had experience with cars tried to get my car started. For a couple of hours he worked on it.

All at once a woman approached us and asked if my car had stopped and would not start. When I said yes, she said that I have water in my gasoline. She had also bought gas at this station a few hours ago and her car had stopped.A mechanic said that her problem was water in the gas tank.
The manager arrived and claimed he was not responsible for water in the gas tanks. He blamed it on rain.

The EPA says that gas tanks should be sealed against water contamination. I called a tow truck and had my van hauled to my regular mechanic/dealership Carl Gregory Chrysler/Plymouth.

As I was paying my bill, the water in the gas tank, which Carl Gregory employees agreed was the cause of my van's stopping, over $800.00 was to cover the repair damage of my van. So far, the station is still denying any liability.

That Monday, no effort was made to turn off the pumps of the station. I and my friends stood by the pumps and warned people not to fill their cars with this gasoline. Twodays later, the station was still selling gasoline. No pumps were covered nor marked out of order.

A friend stopped by the same station to get a drink a couple of days later, and said that three people had the manager backed into a corner, demanding he pay for their cars and also the cost of renting a car while their cars were being repaired.

I have contacted the home office of British Petroleum and received no answer. Looks like I will have to take these people to small claims court. Wasting more of my time.

I talked to another station employee and she stated that her station's policy is to shut down the pumps and cover them immediately is there is any complaint about the quality of the gasoline. She also said that the pumps and tanks had to be inspected by some Federal government agency.
