I was having my credit checked in order to buy my first home. A good friend of mine is my loan officer. I have never been late on a payment. He returned my call after he checked my credit explaining to me that my credit was perfect except for this "bp/citi account" which showed a 30day, 90day, and a 120day past due payment followed by "accont closed at credit grantor's request". BP/CITI? no phone number, no one to talk to about it, just a p.o. box for a company that apparently doesn't even exist? Unbelievable...it happened to me.

I absolutely never used money from this company! BP/CITI in no way shape or form has ever contacted me with regards to anything, EVER!!! I am totally dumbfounded as to what my rights are and what I can do about it. Meanwhile, there is a perfect little house in a perfect spot that I otherwise would have absolutely no trouble in getting a loan for if it wasn't for this extremely fraudelent flaw on my credit report as a result of apparently someone else using my identity to make a gain of merely $275/$596! I have other accounts that I had been using from 2/02 to 10/02.

It is of my opinion that these fraudelent practices within white collar crime that cost this country, each one of our hard working taxpayers, more money than anything else.

I was robbed and tied up at knife point a few years back and the person who did it went to jail for 8+ years. That incident didn't affect my ability to reach my dreams. This fraudelent credit incident at a mere gain of $275 to the criminal who stole it from me is a much more invasive crime because I am not able to fulfill my dream of owning the home I want. Also, the reflective interest I will be paying as a result of these fraudelent practices will cost me as much money as it would've cost for me to go to nursing school. This needs to stop!
