As this is BP related, I thought I'd share my experience also.

I have purchased my gasoline from this station for several years as an Amoco outlet. No problems with product quality. The auto I drive requires premium grade fuel; since brand new. I can tell if the grade is correct by the way the engine runs. Regular grade fuel knocks, pings, and causes run-on. Poor premium (mid-grade sold as premium) also knocks, etc., to a lessor degree. Good grade premium runs smooth. The engine is kept in good tune.

The last tank of fuel I purchased from BP, caused rough idling as soon as it hit the engine. I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal or the engine would die. Previously, I had driven across town, about 5 miles, for the "better" grade fuel, with no problems, engine running smooth and vibration free.

I recognised the problem as I am a mechanic. I was working at a garage when the fuel station next door started selling watered down fuel; just after the tanker truck left. I also cleaned the fuel system for several of those customers. There was enough water in the fuel that the engine would not run.

I have bought my last at BP.

Due to the increasing problems with getting good fuel, I have fuel additives for water and octane booster in the trunk now, to get me to the next station, if necessary. It's just not worth the time or effort to confront the manager (to me). I'll go elsewhere and avoid fuel stations like these; even if I have to drive across town...
