I called Bradley Plumbing in Murfreesboro, Tn. on Monday morning regarding my hot water heater that had quit working over the weekend. The problem was the Thermal Switch, I read the manual that came with the hot water heater and discovered the broken piece was called the Thermal Switch. The casing had disintegrated and that is what I told the rude man that answered the phone on Monday morning. He told me to call Whirlpool and order a new one. I told him that would take several days and I had already been without hot water for 3 days and I would prefer that they just come out and replace the Thermal switch. A plumber from Bradley came out, did not bring a Thermal Switch, looked at the hot water tank and told me the problem was the Thermal switch. He then told me he could not get that part and I would have to order it from Whirlpool, so we called and ordered the part. 2 days later after the part arrived, Bradley sent out another plumber and replaced the part and wanted to charge me for a service call for coming out Monday to tell me they could not fix the water heater as they could not get the part that I had already told them was the problem.  I spoke with the extremely rude man that answers the phone at Bradley plumbing and he informed me that our conversation was taped and that I asked them to come to my home on Monday knowing they could not fix my hot water tank!  Why on earth would I have had them come to my home Monday, and miss work to meet them if I had known that they could not have gotten the part needed to repair the tank? I could have ordered it myself if he would have just told me that they could not get the part. The man that answers the phone is extremely rude and argumentative and I refused to pay for the nonproductive trip on Monday. I did pay for the service call in which they fixed my tank.  In my opinion Bradley plumbing tried to take advantage of me, a woman, and thought I could be intimidated and would pay for a service I did not receive. This is just bad business. We would never treat our clients at my place of business as I have been treated by Bradley plumbing. I don't care what they have recorded, I truly believed they could fix my tank or I would not have asked them to come to my home, I am not an idiot. I am very disappointed in this business and will never trade with them again.

Again; more untruths from Bradley Plumbing.  I was never told that they would not be able to bring the part that I told them that I needed. At no time was I told they could not deliver the part that I specified on the phone that I needed.

Why on earth would I have a plumber come to my house, when I told them on the phone the exact part that I needed, the "thermal switch", if I had known they were not bringing the part out that day to fix the water heater.  Why on earth would I volunteer to pay for a wasted visit.  I knew what part was needed, told them on the phone I needed a "thermal switch" and I was led to believe that they could obtain one and would bring it to my home and fix my hot water heater.

At no time was I told that they absolutely could not get that part and would be unable to fix my hot water tank that day or I would never have had them come out.  Again, I am not an idiot. However;  I am very honored that they fear that a little old lady like myself could "destroy their company", which I do not remember ever saying.  However; as their actions have been so despicable, over a 95 dollar invoice, I would hope to warn others not to become involved with Bradley Plumbing in any fashion.  I have been nothing but harrassed and stressed since my first dealings with them in May of this year.  Beware.

Offered customer free service call

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, July 06, 2015

As the owner of the company, I spoke with this customer when I heard of her complaint. She stated that she was mislead on the phone, so she would not be paying her full bill. I told her that I wanted to set up a time for her to meet me at our office so that she and I could listen to the phone call in question together. I told her that if she was in fact mislead during the call that not only would I give her the $95 she paid back, but I would also credit the additional $95 that she still owes. In other words, if she was mislead, she would get the entire service for free.

During the call in question, it was explained to her twice that we do not carry Whirlpool parts and that she would have to order them. She insisted that we come anyway. Our tech arrived at her residence and had to wait for her to return from work. He then determined that the water heater had to have parts. He got Whirlpool on the phone for the customer and had to spend a long time on the phone with tech support. Whirlpool sent a complete burner assembly and we returned to install it.

Now after making the customer a more than fair offer to get her call for free if she's right, she refuses to come listen to the call. I don't know how we could offer any better deal than this.

This customer also stated that she plans to destroy our company. We have been in business almost 30 years doing a difficult job with skilled, trustworthy plumbers who are becoming extremely difficult to find and employ. I will not let this customer, or any other, threaten to destroy my company in order to rip me off.
