Complaint Review: Brainmass.com

Brainmass.com Vineet Swarup, MBA Preying on college students. 100% Scam. Internet

I had read some of the reviews on this website regarding Brainmass.com but was still desperate enough to give it a whirl. The website claimed that it would provide the solution for a VERY comprehensive problem in my textbook. This problem literally takes hours and hours and hours to complete (6 hours maybe?) and I was stuck on one part of it and decided to shell out the $3 to see if I was on the right track.

VERY disappointing. The correct answer should be 5-10 full Excel spreadsheets. I only got half of one. The problem I was assigned had parts (a) through (f). The "solution" I purchased from Brainmass.com only provided 1/5 of the answer for JUST part (a). I don't know what kind of business they think they are running but it's shameful and misleading. NEVER buy anything from Brainmass.com.

I don't work for Brainmass, but I got through graduate school without ever paying someone to do the work for me. The complainant said that he only asked a small portion of the problem, but that the entire problem would take about 6 hours and 5-10 spreadhseet pages to complete. Did you think that for $3, the expert would do 6 hours worth of your homework to get paid 60-70% of your $3?

The point of Brainmass is to help you understand your homework so that you can do it yourself, not so that someone who is working their way or has worked their way through graduate school the honest way, and is now straddled with student loans, can do your homework for pennies. Then, when the expert refuses to do your homework and you're out $3 for the help that you paid for, instead of getting back to your homework, you go online and call Brainmass a ripoff.

BrainMass is committed to customer service and we always investigate any complaint to our system.  Each Solution in our system is carefully reviewed by a member of our Tutor team, and is confirmed correct by the original student customer who submitted it.

To ensure that student customers are always satisfied we have a Solution Rating system: each time a student downloads a Solution from our site they have the option to rate it on a 1 to 5 scale, and enter a comment.  Our Operations team reviews every single comment we receive, and in the few cases of dissatisfaction, we are happy to provide the user with a complimentary Credit for a future download.  Each Tutor who receives a low rating must investigate the Solution to confirm it is correct, and our Operations team also investigates to confirm that the answer fully addresses the question.

In addition, should a customer email us with any concern we always do our best to address the issue, and provide a Credit or further help as needed.

In this case, without knowing the specific question/Solution this complaint is referencing, it is difficult for us to provide a response to the specific concern: we have over 180,000 Solutions in our system and Mr. Swarup, one of our expert Tutors, has addressed 6800 of them.

At this time we have not received any emails, nor negative Solution Ratings for any of Mr. Swarup's Solutions that have not been addressed by our team.  We would be happy to provide a Credit for this customer if he/she would email us with his/her concern.

Any student user with a concern or question is encouraged to contact us directly at help@brainmass.com.  Our team is always eager to assist and happy to address any questions.

Sincerely,

The BrainMass Operations Team
