As a consumer with a limited budget I always watch ads for anyway to save money, especially when it comes to things I can't do myself such as car repair. I was very happy to see that "Brake Team" had an ad that offered 4 wheel brake special $99.95! I only needed brakes on the rear of my Isuzu Rodeo. What a deal.... So logically it should only be 1/2 of 99$ + the rotor.
I waited patiently while they checked out my truck, the manager called me up to the desk to show me the "estimate" on replacing the rear brakes which I knew would be little more than the advertised price because I had a worn rotor on 1 side.
The price I was given, that day in Feb 2008 at the Parkcrest Ave store in Vancouver,Wa.....$465.36 !! For only 2 wheels...
What happened to the 4 wheel $99.95 special? I expected to pay more than the advertised price because of the rotor but 465$ for only 2 /// I can thank my Dad for teaching me the basics of car repair so people like this will never take advantage of me, I just worry about the other people out there that get talked into paying these bandits!

Being totally fair I am listing the charges directly from the invoice:2 wheel brake special 29.95/premiun pad upgrade rear 55.00/(2)? rear rotors 199.90/rear caliper hardwear 39.99/(2) Dot brake fluid 9.90= 430.09 + tax
Do they actually charge extra for brake fluid on brake replacement?
