On 5/29/2014 ordered "Premium Dimpled and slotted brake rotors" front for 195.75 and back for 188.53, they both included "FREE" standard semi metallic brake pads.  Well they arrived just fine, we went to put them on and started with the front.  We cut the packaging open for the "FREE" brake pads, put grease on them and installed them in the caliper, we then put the rotors on, put the caliper back just fine, they look great.  We went to do the back the same way, We cut open the plastic wrapping for the "FREE" brake pads, put grease on them, put them in the caliper went to put the rotor on, doesn't fit.  They ONLY offer 1 size for my vehicle so it is not like I ordered the wrong size, it doesn't fit over the emergency bake pad.  So I call them up because they do advertise a 20 persent restocking fee.  I explained to them I wasn't returning then because I didn't want them, I was returning them because they sent the wrong size.  They wanted us to take the rotor off again and measure the inside for them.  Wasn't going to happen, we are not going to keep taking our rotors on and off, they act like it is no big deal.  Finally they said they would pay for the shipping back and waive the 20 percent restocking fee.  We sent them back, next thing I know I get and email saying they received the slotted rotors unused and undamaged so my refund would be 148.60, but that the brake pads cam back used and damaged and not in original packaging and they would not send back the 39.93 for them.

 

FIRST it is impossible to put anything back in the packaging that they were sent in, you have to cut it out. SECOND, they were FREE, THIRD they were not damaged unless they damaged them when they received them back or in shipping (which they then need to go to UPS about that). They did have grease on them from trying to install them, maybe my husband should have cleaned them with some brake cleaner.  Point being they were not used.  On the web site and on my order they barake pads are listed FREE 0.00 charge.  Is this their round about crocked way of charging a restocking fee.

 

I have NEVER delt with a company that didn't HONOR their mistake.  Maybe the dimensions they are using to cut the rotor for our car didn't include the emergency brake.

 

Mistakes happen, I kept the front ones, If I just didn't want them I would have sent them back too.  Was happy with the product for the front end.  VERY disappoint in the company.  They are CROCKS, FALSE advertising, to me FREE is FREE.  Usually something that is offered free is yours to keep if item is sent back for whatever reason.  At least we sent them back.

 

And another thing, on their web site they do not offer the rotors without FREE brakepads for 148.60.

 

I hope others can learn from my misfortune with this company and be very warey when using them.  I will never use them again.  They are NOT and HONORABLE company.

Brake Performance got in touch with me on 7/2/14 and made good on what they still owed me.  I am happy with the outcome and consider this matter closed.
