BB&T, You can Tell They Don'tWantYour Business, Volume 2

I am submitting this after reading another report on how the same bank that I have had problems with has hurt someone else as well financially.

I have had two ATM cards eaten at two separate machines through BB&T bank in the past year. The first time, I had a balance of 25.00 and only needed 10.00 until payday. There were no outstanding balances at the time and I could, as so specifically stated by the bank customer service dept., withdraw down to the dollar. The second time just occurred recently. I was depositing a check, not withdrawing. I was doing this to set my balance straight that was negative. Mind you, I had set-up overdraft protection almost a year ago. For some reason, this didn't matter. The ATM card was eaten right as I hit the 'deposit' button on the machine.

I went in the next week when they were open again and asked for a withdraw of 400.00 plus dollars from my 601.82 balance ( I have my paycheck electronically filed bi-monthly and this went against the negative balance that was about 1 and 1/2 weeks in length .) They stated that the account was marked as 'on hold' and the staff member that did it was out to lunch. I stated that I was on my lunch from work and had no time to get back here later. They said 'sorry' and told me that someone would call me back by 1:30 to have this resolved by 2:00.

Well, long story short -

I had to call them back and the staff member was now about a half an hour late getting back to the bank. I explained again what my problem was and how I would like to pull out my money to pay a bill.

Moral:
#1 BB&T does not care about you as a customer or as business transaction.

#2 BB&T can't seem to understand the idea of 'other people's time and money.'

#3 Some BB&T branches don't seem to have a back-up person to handle transaction requests while another staff member is out.

Final: BB&T is a bank that you cannot, I repeat.... cannot 'bank on.'
