I saw this $139.00 Gatlinburg, TN. promomtion package on Sept. 29th on the web. It was for three days, two nights, quality lodging, two adult, tickets to "Country Tonite" or "Dixie Stampede" and a coupon book with over $700.00 in savings on the web. I called the number 800 335 8411, and was given the sales pitch that I could use this anytime for one year. I informed "Jeanne" the telephone sales person that I would be using this vacation package in October.

She also stated that I would have to go to a sales pitch for two hours about a resort and I would be refunded $50.00 of the cost. I agreeded and she then asked me for my credit card number. I gave it to her and then was informed that the total cost was $211.16 after they had my credit card number and she explained that the additional was for taxes.

Then she turned me over to a gentleman that gave me a confirmation number he informed me that it would take fourteen days to process my purchase after I received my certificate in the mail. I had planned on taking this vacation on Oct. 8,9, & 10 and I relized that I would have to make a change in my vacation time.

That was impossible, so I called the eight hundred number on Oct. 6th and they told me that the package was unrefundable, no matter what. I explained to them that I was in the process of signing a contract to go overseas and it would be impossible for me to use this package in the time allowed.

I was turned over to a Jane Myers, Customer Service Specialist that pass herself off as the customer supervisor and she firmly and strongly refused to do anything about a refund. I still hadn't received anything from them in the mail by Oct. 11, and they never mentioned on the telephone conversations that they did not give refunds.

No business in their right mind would refuse the customer a refund if the customer is not satisfied. I believe this company is running a scam with this kind of telephone sales pitch and no refund policy.

Robert, I was ripped off because of the telephone sales person never informed me that the package cost was unrefundable (you might want to re-type that to say NON-REFUNDABLE) under any circumstances. Once she obtained my credit card number, she transfered (it's spelled TRANSFERRED) me to the closer. He informed me then that it would take fourteen days to make the reservations. I checked the hotel reservation directly with the hotel(maybe a comma here?) also the show I wanted to see. I found that there were plenty of rooms during the dates I would request(maybe REQUESTED without the word WOULD before it?) if I delt (it's spelled DEALT) with the hotel directly. The show was given (given what?)every night at eight pm. except Sunday. I did my homework Robets (you might want to do begin homework on your spelling and grammar?). I had not received any package for the vacation from Gatling (oh, and it's spelled GATLINBURG) Getaway and still didn't know that the package was unrefundable (again, the proper word is NON-REFUNDABLE). I called on Oct. 6 to ask for a refund. As stated they said no. I didn't get the written information until Oct 12, 2004. I should have been informed that this package would not be refunded under any conditions before they took my credit card number and charged my account. (as I stated before, when we bought our package this information is given when the manager confirms the sale. Maybe a case of 'selective hearing'?) Now that is not a creditable (the word is credible) practice in business.
You can say what you want, but you didn't read the new rules on this web site and should not have sent in a praise rebutal of this company to my complaint. (in case you were not aware, Harry, it's called FREEDOM)

Branson Getaways Rocks!

#4Consumer Comment

I've purchased twice from this company and they have given us wonderful service not to mention the best prices of vacation packages we've seen! Some people need to post their comments on a "Whiners" website instead of a "Rip-Off" website. Just because the date he wanted was not available does not justify that Branson Getaways is a rip off! Anyone who buys a vacation package and wants to use it within just a few days, should know that availability is much slimmer with such a short notice.
We had no problems whatsoever with our vacation, and we will gladly use them again and have informed many of our friends who have already purchased packages with them as well. Branson Getaways Rocks!!
