Complaint Review: Breakthrough Towing

Used extortion of the Hamtramck Police Department to tow my car out of an unused lot 5 minutes after I parked. They are PREDATORY. There was a festival downtown and they chose a lot to tow cars from to make  $375 a pop. The city manager ended up telling the PD not to sign any more impound slips after several complaints. the Mayor told me to file a Police Report with the Hamtramck Police. Beware of lots they post signs on even though there is no place of business. US Fish and Chicken is not yet open, and that is the lot they were towing from. We called, the manager John gave us an address. We went there, the place was locked. We called again, he said come tomorrow at 9 a.m. We went the next day, still no one there! We called the manager again, and he said "oh we're closed today come tomorrow and I won't charge extra just the $375.00. When we arrived, he wouldn't release our car until we paid $415.
