When I was learning about tubes, I read Brent Jesse's tube pages and learned a lot to get started. Everything i saw seems confirmed by years of reading about, then buying and listening to various tubes in various gear. I just made another purchese from Brent Jesse audio and recommend him to my friends who have tube gear and have not head of him yet.

This guy saying all of these bad things seems to have a different experience than anyone else I have met that has purchased tubes from Brent Jesse. And its the opposite if my experience, I just spent several hundred dollars with him again. I'll do so in the future also.

I have purchased a number of tubes from Brent. He has always provided to me *exactly* what I ordered, no question. In addition, he has been more than fair when I have ordered incorrectly or have a challenge with the 60-day return policy. I just purchased an order in excess of $200. When I received it, I realized that I would be out of the country for 7 weeks and called to ask him about the return policy. I explained my situation. He asked me if I would be using the tubes before I left and I told him I wouldn't. He extended the warrenty until 60 days after my return to the States. That doesn't sound like bad service. Finally, Brent offers a number of tutorials on how to identify particular models and brands of audio tubes for customers' education. He also clearly indicates if he will be shipping identical tubes that were sold through a secondary market. Some manufacturers sold identical tubes under different manufacturers' names. Happens all the time and is legit. I am as happy with Brent's reputation and customer service as I can be. PS: Other than being a retail customer, I have no relationship with Brent's business. And anyone who avers to the contrary is wrong and publically stating I am a liar.

It is Hit and Miss with this company .  They do not have the tube knowledge that they claim . My pal and I have been in the tube / audio buisness for 6 decades .  The claims this company makes are not always truthful .

I guess if you take the good with the bad for this buisness you might be ok . Just beware of everything they claim they can do. Not my first choice  .  They are on the sneaky side of buisness.

In my previous post, I stated I would report on any subsequent transactions with Brent Jessee and audio tubes .com. Well, I have conducted a second transaction, and have only good, if not great things to say.  The product received is simply fantastic, if not amazing, and the service simply followed suit  

 

In my experience, Brent Jessee and audio tubes .com is first class all the way.

Rip off artist seems very out of character

I have dealt with Brent Jesse very recently.  To call him a rip off artist makes absolutely no sense to me. I suppose I will find out more or less for sure, as I just placed a second order with him. 

Not a ripoff artist, but likely a tube connoisseur and an honest business man focussed on customer satisfaction in a very niche oriented market. My first set of tubes, a pair of NOS Western Electric 396A, are simply exceptional, and huge upgrade to an already excellent NOS RCA 5670 black plate pair. The new tubes from Brent Jesse are so good, it's difficult to describe. 

As already mentioned, I've already placed a second order for four more tubes. I fully expect no problems based on my experience with this vendor. If something untoward does occur, I will reply back and report it.  such an event does seem unlikely though.

I would also mention that the original complaint of rip off seems unusually negative, as in the individual writing the complaint comes across as quite a neagative individual.  It's almost like the individual is unable to hide his innate negativity.  This seems much more likely to be the case than Brent Jesse is a rip off artist.

The person filing this report appears to be very bitter towards Brent's business. Had there been any specific details on the nature of their problem it would be easier to give any credibilty to this negative report.

I am a repeat customer of Brent Jesse recording and have only the most positive comments about him and his business. Brent goes above and beyond what is necessary. The tube world is not just about buying an item, there is a certain nostalgia and love for quality associated with this pursuit. Most people that are in this are either musicians themselves or love music to a fault. Anyone would sympathize with a fellow tube lover if a problem occurs. This has been my experience dealing with varios business and individuals that deal in these vintage products. Brent is one of the outstanding individuals among the many such good natured sellers in this field. 

Whenever I had any concerns or issues while doing business with him, Brent has been extremely responsive and helpful. There was never any concern of being cheated or of not being heard.

Things sometimes go wrong even with the best of intentions. This person may have had a lot going wrong with them. However, I am leaning towards an intentional biased view from this person for their own personal reasons, instead of an actual problem that Brent did not address. It is in the interest of the public and fellow tube customers that I write this rebuttal as I felt it was needed.

 I have had nothing but positive experiences with Brent Jessee. He replaced a NOS 6SN7 that was way past his standard warranty period when it went bad. I absolutely reccommend him as I am a completely satisfied customer.

Hello.  I find it very surprising that someone would post such a strong negative comment about Brent Jesse.  I have no affiliation to Brent and am just a very satisfied customer.  I am doing this as I believe it is one of his competitors that is spreading negative propoganda about him.  I actually had a very negative experience with one of his competitors, who will remane unnamed, and I suspect that it is this same competitor that is spreading negative propoganda.  

I have bought several tubes from Brent and I have actually had a couple of problems that tested how much he valued his customer service, and he came through with flying colors time and time again.  That to me is the true test of customer service, what a company does when you have a problem.  Brent went beyond the call of duty more than once.  

To accuse him of being a scoundrel is incredibly far from the truth from my experience, but it actually accurately describes, IMHO, one of his competitors, who I once again suspect is behind this.  So I post this "rebuttal" in an attempt to "level the playing field" a bit.
