Brentwood Bulldogs - Elena Schwinn Brentwood Bulldogs - Elena Schwinn NOT A MINIATURE 60LBS AT 10 MONTHS Royal Palm Beach Florida
We were in contact with Elena for about 6 months - finally picked out a puppy.
Mini's cost about $700+ more than standard bulldogs. Our puppy is not a mini and Elena is nowhere to be found - Website is down.
Note, she has several different sites - http://originalminibulldogs.com/ and once was part of some organization called MBCOA. We initially did not purchase from her cause they would not hand out the AKC Certs - under Brendwood, she did.
However, the puppy is not a miniture, he is 60 lbs. We love our puppy and would not trade him in for anything. But Elena should have been forthcoming and be compensated appropriately for what she gave us.
She is in Florida and the puppy shipped from Arkansas - she was not forthcoming and made it seem like she had the puppy with her!
She is extremely religious - placing "God Bless" on every e-mail. What an oxymorron as she is a crook!

It is not technically possible to purchase an AKC 'mini' bulldog at this time

I am surprised to hear that someone would not purchase a mini bulldog whom was not AKC, but did not realize that AKC does not reckognize mini bulldogs. No size specification like with poodles. To my knowledge, there is only one place that does, and it is the mini bulldog club. What should that tell us? There are certainly smaller bulldogs, but they are registered as bulldogs (unless by this club) none the less. The history of the breeding program thus far in no way supports any sort of reasonable expectation that a 'mini' bulldog will be 'mini'. If your registration information says bulldog, it is hard to say you bought something different. If you do not recieve any registration (and even if you do), I would do a DNA test (my last DNA test through AKC only cost me like $35 or $40 or something) at a reputable, stress the reputable, source if the animal is represented as the offspring of two purebred dogs of the same breed (especially on paper). Sometimes the 'mini' can mean a breed other than bulldog. If you are considering purchasing this breed, please take the above into account, and make sure you do your research, and in places other than just breeder websites.
