I have in my possession 13 used Bright Effects bulbs purchased from Lowe's over the last few years. The box states that they last up to 7 years. Converting to save electricity and be more conscientious about the planet, I have found these bulbs have to be replaced about as often as standard bulbs. They simply have not lasted as long as advertised or as long as I expected.

I plan to call the company to inquire about bulb replacements (as stated on their box). I purchased them from Lowe's and I am somewhat hesitant to purchase anymore for the reason stated above. I don't know whether similar bulbs from GE will be any better, but I am willing to give them a try.

Thanks,

Tom

i had dealings with TCP who are the warranty claims people that service alot of CFL bulb
warranties and during the first few years they always replaced the bulb upon giving them the serial number, but about 2 years ago they changed their "policy" and required the original receipt and for you to ship the bulb back to them to make a determination if it was abused or misused.

ok who has the receipt from a light bulb from 5 years ago? AND wants to pay ~8 bucks to ship it back to have it evaluated.

i had bought 60 units and about half failed within 3 years with a burn spot where the glass meets the plastic.

recently i bought a bunch of bulbs from a large online book store that has a warehouse as large as an Amazon forest and have been very satisfied for less than $1 each so the way of the 10 buck bulb is forever gone.
