LETTER I WROTE TO BRIGHT HOUSE NETWORKS TODAY   MAY 5/2014

Account No.  XXXXXXX

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have spoken, multiple times, to your representatives, none of which seemed to be able to put me in contact with a billing supervisor.   It is to the point that I am forced to contact your company via certified mail.

At the end of February 2014 I ordered cable TV, internet and phone services from Bright House Networks.   I canceled the cable TV very shortly as I was greatly disappointed in the product.  It was improperly explained to me.    Shortly after that I cancelled the internet and phone service, returning to AT&T who simply offered better service.

At the time of my return of the cable TV equipment I was advised that I had a balance from 2010 that you had written off.    I was astounded.   I discontinued service from my previous address, West Melbourne.   Your company did not discontinue the service.   I had argument after argument to get my final bill adjusted.  I was finally told by one of your representatives that I would not be held responsible as I was able to prove that I had service from AT&T, effective the disconnect date.    Instead I find out, after two years, that the balance was written off and placed on my credit record.   This, in and of itself, is reprehensible.

After I ordered the more current service I was not told that I had a balance.   I learned this after returning the cable tv equipment.  I objected and stated that I would not pay for the old service that I had disconnected.   Then I received a bill that, very deceptively, applied payments to the old balance.   There was no notice to me.   There was just a sneaky attempt to collect money without my knowledge.

Needless to say I have been contacting your office repeatedly to complain about this and have my final bill adjusted.   As evidenced by Bright House’s past conduct, the matter is not and will not be addressed.    I was promised to receive a call from a billing supervisor within 72 hours.   That was about a week ago.

At this point, I feel that I should contact the state of Florida and my legislators to look more closely at what is happening here.   The above articulated events are undisguised deceptive business practices.

I am going to be returning the internet equipment sometime this week.

Cordially,

XXXXXXXXX
