After repeated requests to the Physician on "CONTRACT" , (Dr. Linda McLaughlin) with Brighton Gardens and to the ever changing Executive Director (4 in 3 years) about my financial situation and inability to keep paying $5000 per month for my mothers care I submitted a simple 4 page document to both the Doctor and Brighton Gardens requesting a sign off so that I could get my mother transferred to Medicaid in a State assisted nursing home. After 3 months of countless phone calls, faxes, calling the Doctor at home, even speaking with her mother who answered the phone. My request was directly and blatantly disregarded, even when I told them this was urgent and repeatedly reminded them that I could no longer afford to keep her there. They purposefully and blatantly ignored my request resulting in an additional $15,000 in expense and then filed a lawsuit against me and placed a lien on my home.

The Doctor on "contract" with the facility obviously has a commitment to "keep" residents there so that the Assisted Living Facility can extort $5000 per month from families who are unable to care for their elderly or Alzheimer's afflicted loved ones on their own. They deliberately ignored my requests out of pure greed and what sickens me more is that when a resident passes, which is posted at the front desk, a sign for "vacancy" is placed at a very public intersection within a day.
