I got a letter from the bristol county check enforcement program that threatens to take me to criminal court for a check i didnt even know was outstanding. They threaten to take me to court for a $22 check that was suppose to be returned but my bank shows not record of it being dishonored. How do i know if this is real and they want to charge at $65 financial training fee.

The payee was Chestnut hills studios of Seekonk , Massachusetts a Mr. John Botelho. why wouldnt they send a letter ?

Ok this is too easy. Number one, if you were balancing your checkbook you would know what checks have cleared. Number two, have you not gone down to your bank and gotten clairfication from your bank if it cleared? If so, have them copy the check for proof . This really is not that hard to check on, so you can not say it is a ripoff before you have even done your own checking.
