Brittany Russell Fraudulent Check, Scam, Fake Drivertise Company, Gps Tracking on Car, Internet Job Advertisement Los Angeles, California
I found an ad in the local classifieds telling me I can get paid to drive my car. Also known as Drivertise.
They said they pay $200.00-$400.00 a week.
They emailed me a check for $1850.00 that I was to cash and keep $400.00 for myself for the first 2 weeks and then I was to wire the rest of the money to the expert that would be applying the vinyl wrap on my car. They also would be applying a GPS tracker to my car to make sure I was reaching their correct market for the particular ad the applied.
I called the bank the check came from to verify funds, they said they couldn't give me that info over the phone and if I wanted to come in one of their branches they could help me. I told them I live out of state and they asked if it was a check for around $1800.00 and if I kept $400.00 and mailed the rest. I said yes and they told me it was a fraud.
