I have read several other ripoff reports from this company, as I should have researched the matter before purchasing anything from them. But I didn't, and I got screwed. Earlier this month I decided to order a cable modem from this company to set up Road Runner cable internet. The cable modem itself cost $89, and S&H cost $10. A rebate was offered for the $89 modem purchase, essentially making it "free" after S&H. I was leery about buying anything from a third party carrier, especially with rebates involved, but they offered a low price for the internet service itself. However, when the modem arrived, I discovered I also had to pay a $80 activation fee just to activate my cable outlet (which also included the first month's bill). I was not informed of that fee, so I just decided to scrap the whole thing and send the modem back for credit.

Unfortunately, broadbandoffers.com did not see things the customer's way. I returned all of the original materials in the required time frame via FedEx. I received no response for 3 (three) weeks until I had to aggressively hassle their customer service, who, even after never using the modem or any of the included components for service, claim the item was "damaged" and that I am not entitled to any of my refund due. On a side note, I am under the impression that they must send the item back, as it is my property that I paid for now, unless they want to grant me credit. I can understand broadbandoffers.com's reluctance to handle returns, as they are a loss of revenue and some backtracking in accounting must be done, but they really shouldn't stoop so low as to commit fraud and making false claims. The $89 purchase of the modem is at this point not worth my time in collecting a refund, and I'm sure the company knows that as well. Small claims court is out of the question, as it would just be a colossal waste of time. I'm considering just taking a "stupid tax" loss on it and this company, as I should have done my homework earlier.

Anyway, just a fair warning to anyone who might be considering dealing with this company. I would advise not to, based on their lack of integrity. And a phone number that might help anyone who already HAS been screwballed by this company: 1-877-668-7221. That's the phone number for their customer service department, which you conveniently NOT find listed anywhere on their website.

I recently sent the following message to broadbandoffers.com after receiving their claim of not being liable for goods damaged in transit:

"Ah, great. Well, at least I know not to deal with this company anymore. Will be posting my story to ripoffreports.com Feel free to make a rebuttal, but your company's lack of customer sensitivity isn't going to be very convincing. On another note, would you care to send me back my "damaged" property that I paid too much for? Thanks"

"Later this was the company's response:

Thank you for contacting BroadbandOffers.com.

I do show that this has been sent for credit.
You should be credited within 7-10 business days.

Sincerely,

Customer Service
BroadbandOffers.com"

So now I am waiting for appropriate credit. Took too long to get to this point, but oh well, life goes on.
