Ordered a Sony camcorder from these people after a bad experience with another firm. Also ordered several accessories which were to be discounted. Prices quoted were for a 5-hour battery, deluxe case and external rapid charger. Items received and billed were one 2-hour battery, an overpriced aftermarket battery charger and aftermarket general use camcorder case. In addition they billed freight charges of $65.38 for the order.

The shipment was sent by mail and the postage meter label indicated the shipment cost them only $11.90. After calling them about the charges they explained that the additional freight charges were due to insurance coverage (the USPS stamp includes all costs including insurance). They refused to make an adjustment. I was willing to pay reasonable freights charges of maybe $25-30 for the order and feel I was misled by the salesman. Watch out for this company!

You may have a point about the equipment ordered but not about the shipping charges. Don't know the value of the items purchased but I do know about shipping. The $65 does sound a bit high but there are several things to consider. Who pays for the person to wrap and ship the package? How much does the material cost used in shipping your package? Who pays for the person to go to the post office to ship your package? Gas, mileage, insurance, all costs are in addition to the actual postage. Charged a customer $5 to ship a package to him one time. He gets the box and sees $3.25 postage and wants $1.75 refund. I tell him to forget it. I have to pay someone to wrap the package, pay for wrapping material, and pay someone to go to the PO, minimum half hour to 45 minutes, all for $1.75. Told him if he didn't like it he could drive the 90 miles and pick it up himself. Now some companies are self insured and don't buy insurance through the PO but through their own ins. company so the ins. might not be reflected in the cost on the label. If this purchase was through an internet site they usually have shipping fees posted depending on the value of the item.
