Afetr looking for a debt consalidation option on the internet I recieved and email from a webiste saying that Brookfield lenders had approved a loan of 5,000 dollars for me.

I was given a number to call, and spoke to a man named Frank. he told me that due to my credit history this would need to be a "secured loan". This would require me to pay a collateral upfront which would then be the first 4 payments on my loan.

Frank instructed my to go to the nearest place with a fax machine and then call him so that he could fax the loan paperwork to me, I would sign a couple of the pages and then fax it back with a copy of my drivers liscense and a current pay stub. I would then be required to wire him a 900 dollar "collateral" for the loan. The money should be in my account in the morning.

I chose to ask a bunch of questions at first, he was very smooth and reassuring. I got off the phone and was weighing my options, but I just couldn't get it out of the back of my head. I called the BBB, and they started to yell "No No No" before I got 2 sentences into my story.

I tried to call frank back at the company number and all I got was a "thank you, goodbye" recording and was immediatly disconnected.

Frank did eventually call me back and reassure me that he was not asking for money upfront, but merely trying to "secure" the first 4 payments of the loan.
