In 2004 Abcool, Inc. (Brian)installed a compressor at my residence. The compressor was purchased and installed for a total of $1475.00 - paid in full via American Express. The month of installation was June. In mid August 2004 the compressor started making noises. I called Brian (who claimed he was the owner of Abcool) and he came out to check the compressor. Brian told me the compressor was ok - nothing to worry about. During the cooler months of 2004 and into 2005 when the heat was on the compressor made a noise similar to air brakes on a bus. This noise continued every 2-3 minutes when the unit was running.

I called Brian who came out to check the unit (January 2005) and according to Brian the defrost was kicking on causing the noise. Brian claimed he replaced the element and everyhing was ok. All of 2005 and into 2006 I continuously called Brian - who did come out again to check the unit and told me that the defrost was still coming on and he would contact the Rheem company to find out why the element kept malfunctioning.

From mid 2005 right up to 2006 I had problems with the noise from the compressor. Brian refused to take my calls, and/or would say that he would come out to repair the unit but would never show up. I called in another technician who told me that the unit was installed too close to the house and that wiring was reversed when the until was origianally installed. The price quoted was $1800.00 to repair the unit and move it away from the house. I contacted Brian again who stated that he was waiting for someone from Rheem to contact him because the parts were still under warranty. Brian told me that he would meet me at the Rheem dealer on Highway 441 in Orlando on Saturday morning.

I went to the location Brian said to meet him at only to discover that there was no Rheem dealer at the location. There was not even an address at the site Brian told me to meet him. When I called Brian he would not answer the phone.I contacted the Rheem distributor and told him the problems I was having with the unit. The distributor contacted a technician in a North Florida who did contact me. The technical got Brian's number from me and tried several times to convince Brian to come back and repair the unit or replace the unit. Brian told the technican that I had not contacted him at all and that he was unaware of any problems I was having with the untit. Brian then told the technican that I should call him (Brian) because he would be happy to come out to repair the unit.

A friend of my brother suggested that I contact BT Enterprises and speak to DJ who was also in the heating and air conditioning business. My brother contacted DJ for me and was told that DJ would call me the same day. DJ called me and said that his technician could come out the same day to repair the unit. DJ then placed me on hold while he took another call. The commercial that came on over the line while I was on hold stated that "Abcool Heating & Air had been in the business", etc. et.... When DJ came back on the phone I immediately asked if this was the same Abcool because if it was, I had no intentions of doing business with him. DJ vehemetly denied knowing Brian and stated that his company was not the same Abcool or affilated with Brian's company. I contacted my brother who immediately contacted DJ and asked the same questions, "Are you and Brian in business together because if that's the case, we do not wish to do business with you." DJ denied that the company was same one that installed the compressor in the first place.

My brother told DJ about Brian and the trouble I had experienced with the work Brian did every since the compressor was installed.DJ denied that he knew Brian and again repeated that his company was the same "Abcool" company that Brian worked for or owned.
Only after I paid $275. and another $350. for a new thermostat and to have the compressor re-wired and moved from too close to the house did I discover that the Abcool Heating and BT Enterprises had the same License number. It is the same company.I called DJ and when I confronted him with this information, he became very abusive in his language and only after my brother contacted him did DJ admit that he and Brian's Abcool is afiliated but not really the same company he said. A company can have the same license number DJ stated but that doesn't mean anthing." Brian and DJ are in cohoots and they took advantage of me.

I paid $1475.00 for the original installation in 2004 for the compressor and another $625.00 in Februay 2006 that I should not have had to do. I want everyone to know that Abcool and BT Enterprises are the same company. They are crooks. I want my money back - the new thermostat was $275.00 but the $350.00 I paid for the re-wiring and to have the compressor moved from too close to the house I want back. All $350.00 of it.
And to BT Enterprises dba as Abcool Heating and to Abcool, Inc.you are the same company - and I want everyone to know that you are not to be trusted and everyone should avoid doing business with you.

Dear Brenda,

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience with ABCool, INc.  I on the otherhand did not have a bad experience.  Infact, I found your ripoff report prior to using the company.  Because we live in the land where one is innocent before proven guilty.  I did my research and questioned the company before they came out to install a high effeciency unit that cost me $7500.  The address that you have listed is a different company because the ABCOOL I used is at 32 S. Hudson Street  Orlando, Fl.  Apparently, the Brian you had a problem with is Brian C. and he was a former employee back in the mid 90s.  There is a new gentlemen that works for them named Brian H.  He is a young mid 20ish man who is married with 2 kids and not only did he help me out hugely by fixing a closet to put part of the equipment in(my home is over 15yrs old) but, he stayed late into the evening to make sure the air was working properly.  He just recently starting working for the company.  It is not fair that you did not put the full name of the gentleman in question because if you did then the Brian H. that helped me would not be looked at as if he were shady and a rip off artist.  Yes, there are bad people in this world.  But, if you don't get the full info on all the parties involved you make it bad for the new people to get a fair chance.  Like what they look like or what they were wearing or driving.  I have used this company of B.T. Enterprises/Abcool heating and air and I will continue to refer them.  For future reference If you buy a Mcdonalds franchise you will have to use the licensed name and all that goes with it.  If you buy a McDonalds and your name is Mr. Brown you  can not call it McBrowns.  Get it.  Next time get the full name  and description because the gentlemen Brian H.  that did the work for me is getting a bad rep because he has the same first name as some looser rip off artist.   I want everyone to know that I had a good experience.    Mrs. Burnwright   Orlando, FL
