Buckmasters telemarket scam Montgomery, AL 36117Montgomery, AL Montgomery Alabama
I am filing this complaint because I believe that the practices at Buckmasters LLC are illegal and unethical to the consumer.
I subscribed to the magazine In December of 07. It was then I started to get phone calls on a consistantly. My usual response was a simple no thankyou and hang up. one day at the end of June I recieved a yellow envelope in the mail stating I owe $99.99 to Buckmasters for some kind of knife set. Flustrated I called the company up in which the sales repsentive said that I had ordered the knifes on May 6th during a phone conversation. After explaining to the man that I didn't order the product and to just cancel the order he said no problem and it would be taken care of. Unfortunally I didn't get a conf number. A month passes and I recieve another bill in the mail for the same thing. Again more flustrated I call them up and I talk again to another sales rep who assures me it will be taken off my bill and gives me a confirmation number. Not trusting the company I called them up a week later to find out that the 99.99 is still on my bill. I refused to pay it because I didn't order it and I never recieved the product. The next thing I know they sent my account over to collections. After being annoyed with phone calls and fearing that they could mess up my credit score I paid it kicking and screaming. I was informed that I would be placed on their DNC list and have the e-mails to prove it. However they still called my house claiming they just wanted to confirm somthing then try to sale me another subscribtion. I have e-mails confirming that they did call me and Sales Rep Colby Jackson admitting he did I am more then willing to send those to you. I have filed a complaint to the FCC but have yet to hear anything.
It wasn't until I threatend legal action that the company will not call nor will they even answer questions when I e-mail them. After 2 months I final recieved the product which was very inferrior, the knifes looked as if they came from the dollar store.
When I asked to hear the tapes and the proff of me ordering the merchandise they refused to play them for me. They just told me since its an outside company that handles their calls then its a legal binding contract once they recieve the sale. No matter who it is Buckmasters should be accountable for these people\companies they hire.
How can they tell me they are going to cancel it and still send me to collections? I have the merchandise setting in the box and I am more then willing to send it back...
I know that this is only one complaint and its only $99.99 but how many people have they done this scam to. Its not hard to find other sites with message boards. I have listed a few below that support my story that I am not the only one.

I also filed with the BBB however I didn't hear form them either.
I hope someone will step up to the plate and take action. I love the sport of hunting to much to see it get destroyed by companies like these clowns

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, January 20, 2010
I am responding to this because i was an employee with Buckmasters, and I do believe the company is a scam. The people that work at this company are disgusting and will do anything to get their dollar-per-hour up. Some of the employees there will sign people up without the persons consent. Even the managers know what is going on and wont do anything about it.
