Bucks County Basements Bucks County Pavers Be Aware! Bucks County Basements owner Jim Anderson doesn't pay his sub-contractors! New Hope, Pennsylvania

Beware if you hire this crook. He hired me to work on several projects in the Bucks County PA area totaling approx $1750.

All my work was excellent without any problems as far as workmanship. He paid the $550 dollars but then he refused to pay the rest. I've heard every story in the book... from I'll put the money in tomorrow, my wife didn't get to the bank, I'll deposit the money on Monday..... and now he says that I havent provided him with all the paperwork. However, before working for him, I signed and faxed back everything that he requested. If the paperwork was a problem, then why did he give me a partial payment and allow me to work on any projects. I'm now forced to go to small claims court and possibly put a lien on the innocent homeowners property where I performed the work.
I will never lift another finger for this guy and I recommend that if you are thinking of hiring this guy, look elsewhere... or you might wind up with a lien on your house too.

The reason why this subcontractor did not get paid in full was two-fold:

1)   He and his crew did not complete the work agreed upon.

2)   Even though he signed an agreement stating he had the proper insurances as required by the State of Pennsylvania, he was unable to produce a certificate from his insurance company.  One can only assume that reason he cannot produce a certificate of insurance is because he does not have it. Operating without the proper insurance in Pennsylvania is  foolish, illegal and a breach of our agreement that he signed.

He has also improperly used this forum to publish this  false and defamatory material since he is not
a customer but rather a subcontractor that does not play by the rules.

I strongly suggest that this individual get himself the proper insurance as required by Pennsylvania law and also seek out a good attorney who specializes in defamation and intellectual property law.
