Budget Inn - Manager Manager was rude, arrogant and dishonest Nevada Iowa

 The manager was the worst person I have even done business with.  He was arrogant, rude and dishonest.  We had booked Saturday night through you and then I called the week before to see if there was room for Friday as well and he said yes he had a double bed room but it would be something like 8 - 10 dollars more because was booking it directly on him.  When my husband checked in on Friday, the manager said he didn't have a room with double bed only one with a king bed and that he made the mistake of booking with me without looking at computer for availability.  We had 4 people, two kids which are taller than me so a king would not work.  Manager then said he did have a family room available with 3 double beds but that would be 180.  After some discussion on price, and hoping he would see that since it was his mistake he would offer this room to us at same price he did offer it at discount of 140 something.  He said we should be grateful for providing a discount and then said if don't want room he didn't care if my husband stayed or not he could just go stay out on the street since wouldn't be able to find anything (graduation weekend).  My husband took room and called me to explain.  I called Manager as traveling there and asked what was going on - he said he explained to my husband didn't have room and that we should be grateful to him for giving us a room.  He was so rude and said if didn't want it my whole family could go stay on the street.  He didn't care I should be grateful.  When I asked what I did wrong in booking this, he said I should have done through internet and I said why didn't he tell me that when I called instead of booking me a room directly.  Anyways went around and around with him saying I was not listening to him.  I told him I would not being writing a kind review on how he treated me and would be going to the better business bureau and he said I couldn't do that and he would be going to BBB himself to explain how bad I was. He then called my husband and told him he needed to come down to office.  My husband asked why did his card not get approved and he said no he just needed to come down.  So he did and he said your wife is upset and I can kick you out to street why aren't  you grateful I gave you a room.  My husband said I paid and am tired and going back up to room.  On Saturday we checked out of family room and checked into our room.  I had tried to get out staying their Saturday, and booking.com agent even tried but he said you can't get out of it.  Agent said that he was rude to her as well and got her supervisory involved. 

But because of contract nothing they could do.  On Saturday when I checked out the price was higher than what I was quoted online.  Which from other reviews sounds what other people have done.  The hotel was not the best, lobby smelled but that is not what I am upset about as  I knew that when I booked this it was not going to be a high rated hotel which is why price was cheap.  I still can't believe I was treated that way and hope a review of the hotel and the manager is done so no one else has to be treated that abusively.
