Budget Rent A Car suprisingly cost renter twice as much as expected ripoff abused & mistreated Indianapolis Indiana
Towards the end of may, I headed to Atlanta,Ga for a job interview. Instead of putting all those miles on my personal vehicle, I decided to rent a car. I went through a website to find the best deal. The website set me up with a car from Budget Rent a Car. I paid online using my credit card. I picked up the car from the Indianapolis International Airport as instructed.
The clerk that helped me seemed new because it took forever to get my car. The lady asked if I wanted insurance and quoted me a price of fourteen something dollars. I said yes. She then asked if i wanted the fuel option. I told her yes. I took the car and went to Atlanta.
I returned the car on the third day as planned and turned in my contract. The new clerk told me I owed $150.02. I told her I already paid for the car through the website. She said the charges were for insurance and fuel option for the three days. I told her the lady quoted me $14 per day. She then asked me if my intitials were on the contract and I said yes. I told her I thought I was just initialing what I already paid through the website since the first clerk didn't explain what I was signing. I went ahead and paid so I could leave.
I wrote Budget via their website and told them what happened. They told me that I did intitial the contract and if something would have happened while I had the car, I would have been covered. I told him I just wanted a refund for what I was charged above and beyond what I was quoted. They again refused. Budget would not be out any money if they would refund me the $60+ dollars extra they charged me since I returned the car with no damage. At the end of the response letter, Budget had the nerve to hope that I would do buisness with them again. Ha, what a joke.
Refunding my money would have been good buisness I would have done buisness with them again in a heartbeat. Instead, I will never rent from them again, and I tell everyone I know, and even people I don't know, to rent from someone else. Beware people of what you sign.
