We rented a truck and trolley for a move. On the Jersey tpk a tire on the trolley went flat--the one that carries the car. Called the company and they said they would send a tow truck to fix the flat. They did come and tick, tock about 90 minutes later another tire on the trolley went flat. This time it took maybe 2 hours before they came. The night was awful. Got stuck in the full thick of traffic with the delays by the tires blowing. I complained to the company when we got back and the gal on the phone was a mean little dipstick. I wrote the company to tell them what went wrong and how rude the gal was on the phone. They knocked off $100 on our bill and I thought that was great.

So, ff to almost 2 months later I receive a bill for almost $900 for the tires. The wrote in their letter that, "you chose to accept responsibility for any damages to the vehicle up to the full value of the vehicle, "REGARDLESS OF NEGLIGENCE." So, what they added is that, "the billing represents our estimated cost to repair or actual cash value (ACV)plus related expenses."

So, I guess they have a built in way to assure they can eventually pay for new tires that they do not properly maintain.

Interesting sidebar is that when we handed everything in, one of the mechanics said that rot-lot happens a lot--that the trolley's sit around and parts get hard so that when they are used they wear quickly. I'm sure that's going to be useful, but seems like I'm screwed. Little guy here. Big guys win in this arena, right.
