It should be a Class Action case for lawyers that cares. On 9/11/11 I was late to pick up the rental car because I did not know the Budget Rent a Car at Phoenix International Airport. First time I had to rent a car.

When I returned the car I was shocked to find out that I had been billed for LDW insurance. At the rental counter, I clearly declined all insurance. The clerk apparently failed to note the refusal of the LDW insurance and I did not notice this at the time of the rental. Whether this action was intentional on the part of the clerk in an effort to commit fraud or simply an inadvertent error remains to be seen. I signed the rental agreement presuming that they merely needed my wet never expecting that these were additional charges.

This is really bad business practices. Nothing can be done as it is a signed contract and even if my wife was close to me she cannot be a witness. For $107 I can just report them to BB, consumer report and rip off. In addition I will call the travel agency in my company to ask them not to use Budget anymore. I told the clerk I was paying with my master card and I had already a car fully insured but I guess they want to make comission and abuse people who have spend 24 hours flying from Europe.

I think this is an illegal practice that the Auto Rental Industual is pulling on their customers in order to increase profit through some sort of commission.
