Budget Steel Buildings is nothing but a ripoff building company that doesn't even possess the basic knowledge to construct steel buildings. They're just a by-the-seat of the pants company.

After waiting for six months, the job was completed crappy and without any oversight by the owner of the company. The building is poorly supported on one end, the support was cut too short, causing the outside sheet metal to warp, the roofline is sagging, they cheated me on the slab concrete by not completely pouring the slab (it has gaps around the support posts where snakes and mice can come in), the ridge cap seal was installed improperly so there is gaps that sunlight comes through, the front entry door was installed with no door seal, allowing dirt, insects, and water to come in underneath, all 5 windows were installed improperly by cutting sheet metal because the constructor mis-measured the dimensions of the window.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Texas State Attorney General's Office, and the Federal Trade Commission.

When I informed the owner's representative that i was ready for the final walkdown of the building, he informed me that the people building it performed the inspection.

This is a BOLD-FACED LIE! I was told by the salesman, upon signing the contract, that either him or the owner would come and do a final inspection of the building upon completion. Also, the one-year warranty that was promised me has never been utilized or honored to correct the deficencies in my building.

When I complained about the building, they sent the individual who built it to come and inspect it again. Of course, he reported back that nothing was wrong. So, I sent my own pictures to Budget Steel Buildings for them to review. They called me in December 2001, and informed me that they would come and correct the deficiencies in my building after the holidays...

Well, here it is August, 2002 and no phone call, no communication at all. They refuse to answer the phone, answer my faxes, and are generally hiding.

I had my building inspected by a reputable steel building company and was informed that not only were the beforementioned items wrong, Budget Steel Buildings didn't even put the screws in the right places to hold the sheet metal pieces together on the sides and on top of the roof. They informed me the best thing to do to correct the building was to bulldoze it and start all over!!!!!

I filed a lawsuit against Budget Steel Buildings in July, 2002 and am in the process of having the owner of Budget Steel Buildings served.

I am suing for $5000.00 to cover the expenses it will cost me to correct their mistakes... If anyone is even thinking of hiring this company to build them a building... please read my report!!
